It's not extremely bright, but the light is evenly balanced from end to end. It's been great for going through my 4x5 & 8x10 negatives & is extremely easy to store. I only gave it 4 stars because the port for the power cord is a bit problematic for plugging in; a bit tight. I really wish they would have used a USB-C for a cleaner connection. Also there is no power button so you have to constantly plug & unplug it.

This is a bright little light table. I like it very much for DSLR scanning of negatives and slides. It is also useful for backlighting darkroom prints to DSLR scan them with great contrast and color. The only thing I would ask for that it doesn’t have is a power switch. When it is plugged in it is on. When it is unplugged it is off. There’s no way to plug it in and turn it on one off while remaining plugged in. This is a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience none the less.

It's just fine for the purpose of scanning slides or negatives, which is what I need. It's a bright board. I have strong magnets that just barely stick to this - with negatives it might be better to use tape. Finally, it's not USB C. It's mini usb. Not a huge deal but had I known I would have bought something different. Mini usb is really outdated.

Dusted off all of my Ektachrome slides and have now archived all to digital. Worked great, strong light and no backlight pixelization noted when shooting slides with my ultra wide 12MP or 48MP camera. Same said with my medium format rolls of 4x5 film that I had saved but not processed for over 40 years. Thank you for a perfect solution for a very reasonable price! :)
