Great tube pan!
I love this mini angel food cake pan! It holds one-half of a normal angel food cake recipe. At Thanksgiving it made the perfect amount of cake without having a ton of leftover. If you go to the Wilton website they provide an angel food cake recipe that is designed for this size cake pan. I purchased 2 of the mini angel food cake pans so I have the option of making a regular sized recipe and dividing it between 2 pans. That way the extra cake can be frozen for future use.

Very nice pan
I got this pan for baking Angel and Chiffon cake. The cake rises nicely, better than non-stick pans. It is easy to wash once soaked in water. I like how it can be inverted to cool down. I'm new to baking so I'm not quite sure how to remove the cake from the pan without it sticking to the pan. I used a bread knife to cut it around the edge, but it didn't turn out to be nicely rounded. I think it's my personal problem rather than the pan's problem.

As an angel food pan should be
I already have a full sized aluminum angel food pan of this same design that works beautifully and have been looking for smaller versions of the same thing. Now that there we have an empty nest, desserts cakes are often cut and shared or frozen. With two of these pans in the smaller version I can now bake 2 cakes with my regular recipe and share or freeze an attractive in-tact cake.Non-stick pans are useless for tall angel food and chiffon cakes so I insist on this type of pan that allows the batter to climb the sides and then not fall out when inverted to cool. If the cake rises even higher than the legs I can still invert the pan by sliding the center hole over a bottle until cool. The removeable bottom and center core replace the benefits of a non-stick a non-issue. Because of the non-fatty nature of angel food and chiffon cakes, seepage of batter from the bottom has never been an issue.Stick with half sized or mini-sized bundt pans or layer cake pans for your other cake batters.

VERY flimsy.
It arrived with three minor dings, right out of the box. The aluminum is so soft that I could smooth them out with just my fingers. I haven't used it yet, so this rating may change after I do. Hopefully not for worse.Downgraded to 1 star. During the second use it warped in the oven at 340°F, and spilled about quarter of the batter. I believe it will just join the aluminum cans in the recycling bin. Not worth keeping.

Acceptable with a couple design issues
I've had this pan for a month now and made over a dozen chiffon cakes (yes I'm a little addicted, and no I didn't eat them all). I bought this pan initially because it met my top criteria: 7" or 8", aluminum, 3"+ tall, removable bottom. I could do without the cooling tabs and would have liked to see a taller and wider center post. As other reviewers have noted, the cooling tabs are taller than the post. The pan works fine for chiffon cake. There were a couple of times it threatened to leak out the bottom (see pic 1), but it could be user error. Natural aluminum is easy to clean, except for the groove and lip. Batter gets into the groove and around the edge of the removable bottom, making it tough to clean and get the cake out (see pic 3). In comparison, I have a Fat Daddio's removable bottom cake pan and the bottom is flat, no groove, no lip and doesn't leak at all.My cake takes up most of the 4.5" height; the cooling tab bolt heads leave little dimples on my cake (see pic 2). It's minor, one small detail that would keep this pan from being perfect.Overall, I find the pan acceptable. I like how my cake bakes up with this pan. If I were to buy another one, I would look harder for another pan with a flat bottom. With limited options for the material and size, there might not be one.

Nothing Wrong With The Cooling Legs
A few reviewers commented and at least one reviewer supplied photo showing the cooling legs are too short. After reading those reviews, I was hesitant to order, but decided to roll the dice. The pan I received has no issue with the cooling legs. They are an acceptable length. See my attached photos.I’m not doubting the other reviews. This review is just on my order. There are a large number of detailed reviews on the functionality and cooking results so I wont bother to comment on that.As a side note DO NOT PLACE THIS PAN IN THE DISHWASHER!!!!! All aluminum cookware can be ruined by a dishwasher regardless of the manufacturer. Google it if you need the details.
