Cubilux USB C to SPDIF Transmitter, Unidirectional Type C to Optical Audio Output Adapter with 192KHz/24bit DAC for MacBook Pro/Air, Laptop, Computer

I bought this as a way to get lossless audio from my iPad, iPhone and windows laptop to my HiFi and this works almost flawlessly. When steaming music the quality is amazing, no issues at all and audibly better quality than Bluetooth. YouTube and Netflix also work great, but when streaming video using the Apple TV app no audio comes through (using Windows and iPad apps). Luckily this isn't a dealbreaker for me (and also is likely Apple's fault rather than the manufacturer, since it works with other streaming services, hence I haven't docked any stars) but I would look for another product if playing back Apple TV content from a laptop or iPad will be important for you.

Like everything else they create it is easy to install and needs zero setup.The size is perfectly small and connects my Surface Pro to my nearfield monitors. I am creating music with their products and releasing it to streaming services.The quality of their little gadgets are worth way more than the selling price. Works really well for computers that have no built-in digital/optical output. I praise the product because it turns the optical connection output of when nothing is playing; this is useful for receivers, like sound bars, that can turn themselves on and off automatically using signal detection.No special drivers are needed, you just plug it in, and it does what it's advertised to do. Wha you will want to do manual is set the bitrate and frequency in your computer's settings to a config supported by the receiving device as well as set it as the "default device" if other audio devices/outputs are available.The cable is a little on the thin side, but I'm not docking any points for that because, as with any other digital product, it'll last if looked after.I'm using this product with a Dell OptiPlex 3000 Micro (2022 model), which is serving as part of a bedroom theatre system; it has no rear output audio port at all, so it's a perfect fit! I have mine configured for 24-bit @ 48kHz, and the sound is just pure bliss... you just can't ask for more.If you're looking into moving away from copper cables because of signal crosstalk or residual hissing noise, this product is one great way to make that transition.

Quality control must be suspect as the device was dead on arrival. Bought it to connect an Nvidia Shield streamer to a Stereo Yamaha R-N602 amplifier. The Nvidia detected it as the default audio output despite but I could not get any audio. The red LED transmitter was however working. I also tried using it with my laptop, selected it as the default audio output, tried different but-rates but again no sound. Cubilux customer service, however, was good.Ordered a Nobsound Douk Audio U2 which worked first time with no fuss whatsoever. Unfortunately, it is an expensive overkill for my application but it works.

Works as advertised. got this to use on my main desktop pc. audio quility is 10/10 and just works with my windows 11 pc.Only down side is audio cuts out with skipping back or forward. so i think the audio chip can't keep up with fast audio switching so only giving 4/5 score.

takes 1 or 2 seconds to connect to speaker when i first attempt the connection.Actually worked better than my old motherboard SPDIF connector, which wasn't able to give the correct 'keep alive' signal to my soundbar.It is a good compact device though, at a reasonable price though, so couldn't expect much more.

True to the product description, it is plug and play. I ordered a new motherboard before realising that it didn’t have a SPDIF port so this handy device allows me to still use my Sony soundbar, which lacks a traditional analogue audio jack, with my PC. Extremely useful!
