I got these for myself after deciding to start playing golf again after 20+ years of not doing so. They’re very nice clubs for the money (note: this whole *set* cost less than my neighbor’s *driver*), and contain almost everything you could need to go out and hit the links; you might want a sand wedge and possibly a long iron, but even those are optional. The driver has a nice, large sweet spot and hits long and true when you make good contact. It’s not super-forgiving when you don’t, but that just means it’s feedback to get better. Are there drivers out there that’ll hit it further, with a larger sweet spot, or help moderate mistakes more? Yes, but not for anything like the price of this one (about $20 out of the roughly $200 the set costs). It certainly serves to get you from the tee to the fairway. The fairway wood and hybrid are solid, and give good distance. I didn’t notice a ton of spin on either, but again, for a set aimed for beginners, is anyone really trying for backspin or topspin? Anyone shooting a fade or draw? Thought not. The irons offer a nice, roughly 10 yard gap between each at full swing. One can easily use the pitching wedge as a utility wedge for bunkers and chip-ins. The only club I’ve not really used is the putter, as I already have a nice one that I use (in fact, getting it was part of the impetus for getting back into golf). The bag is a little small if you’re planning on packing 14 clubs, but for a compact set like this (9 clubs), it’s perfect. There’s plenty of storage for balls, tees, gloves, the rain cover, and other stuff. All in all, this is a great inexpensive, “I wanna see if I like golf with my own clubs,” set for someone to take to the driving range or out on the links. As you improve, replace it piecemeal.

I ordered these as my son and I were getting into golf (me after a 20 year hiatus). I was excited about being able to get a longer set as we are both 6’4’’. We hadn’t even played a round yet-only a couple of buckets at the driving range when the head of the 3 wood snapped off following a normal shot. This wasn’t a mishit where we hit the ground. Very disappointing to say the least. I’ll see what powerbilt will say about it. Edit: I contacted the seller who worked with powerbilt to send me a replacement club directly. Hopefully this was a fluke thing and I get lots of use from the new one. I do appreciate the seller being easy to work with and prompt with their response.
