Quality part I think the comments about it cracking is because it was either overtightened or one side was tightened down too much without tightening the other side down equally. Worked perfectly on my 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 4x4 with the Vortec 5.3L V8. I added a little RTV to the mating surface but only because that tiny o-ring didnt seem like it was all that stought. The OEM one had the same o-ring and no RTV and worked for 120000 miles I only replaced it because I was having to do work on the cooling system anyway.

Great fit for 01 Chevy Silverado 5.3
Good thermostat, matched the oem one perfectly! Same quality materials too! Fit my 2001 Chevy Silverado with just two bolts to install it, I had zero issues with install. It gets up to the normal operating temperature of just below 210 degrees Fahrenheit, opens and functions properly. As it should.

Thermostat housing came with the reset it fit perfectly had no issues with it after replacing about everything I needed that had to do with the cooling system that stay cool now so I’m very happy kind of broke but happy lol….
