All wizard and no mystery?
Hesitant after the first book about diving back in as I was afraid I wouldn't get to see our would-be-Merlin do any magic. Glad I was wrong! This book starts off with an interesting dive into the magic system. We begin to scratch the surface of what looks to be an interesting twist on magic. To me it feels a little like Avatar meets Harry Potter. The elemental alignment, while not always a restriction, adds a nice touch and keeps people guessing. Will be interesting to see where our MC goes once he branches out of his main element as (from the first book) he is capable of wielding all elements almost equally as well.Truth be told, it feels like this book should have been book 1 as it actually dives into him starting his path to becoming a wizard. Still on the fence but will try the third book before I make any more decisions on this series. Who knows, maybe this is all an evil plot by the author to hook you into buying, while he cackles and mutters "just one more...just one more..."

A well written and well thought out urban fantasy
I have been very impressed both by the integrity of the writing and the kindliness of the young hero in this book. It is nice to see a genuine and well rounded hero in a fantasy book of this type. I am also happy hat there isn't a lot of snarky behavior or teen aged angst. The violence is kept to a minimum. The imaginative settings and magical designs of the book are also well thought out. I liked both of the first two books very much and look forward to the next ones. I will probably explore some of he other books by this author as well.

Another great book in the series
This book was riveting from the first chapter. This author let's me enjoy reading by keeping the action going. It is well written and well worth you time to read.

Better than book 1
This book is definitely better than the first book. It deals more with our MC and what trials and tribulations he is undergoing at college. We do have a couple of obvious plots, and a couple of sub plots that aren't as obvious.Definitely better than book 1, but it still has a slight unfinished taste to it.

A quick read
Didn't take me long to finish this one, a little faster than book one. The story more along with the main character easily handling everything that comes after him. Not a lot suspense there but I bought the next book anyway.

Beats the first book by a long shot.
Great sequel to the first book and leaves a wonderful hook tote next in the series. I can't wait to read the next one. This second book gives you more time as with koda and shows cases how much more powerful he is compared to the other students which is nice to see. Good mix of other female characters trying to position themselves as possible love interest which makes this story feel like an anime where all the characters are fighting for him.

It takes a really strong and good urban Fantasy book to spark and keep my interest
It takes a really strong and good urban Fantasy book to spark and keep my interest. This series did EXACTLY that!! Love the premise and the characters. Even though the series is ended I hope there will be more books in this world with these characters as there are still many questions unanswered.

Great
I am rereading the series. I like everything James Wisher writes! I get more feeling for the characters as I reread his story.

A good book in several pieces
I am liking the story so far, however I am a little annoyed at the blatant money grab technique. This isn't a series it's one book chopped arbitrarily into chunks and packaged as separate books. The story flow does not match the books pacing and this leaves the story to suffer when you suddenly come to a totally unexpected ending that had more to do with number of pages than story. Read as a whole I like it, individually it's a hatchet job on an otherwise good book that shouldn't have been chopped up to make more money.

Not your average day
A new school can be tough and making friends is real work sometimes. But being the only boy at school were you're not welcome is very hard work. Especially when some of the upper class want you dead! Oh well, just another day at school.Great fun lots of action and twists. Snakes! Why did it have to be SNAKES!!

Great second book with strong characterisation
Entertaining second book in the series. I find myself genuinely liking the characters, which tells you what you need to know about the author's skill.
