Classy navy drop earrings
Really beautiful. Difficult to find any blue earrings that are classy, but simple. Can wear at fanciest occasions or with jeans. I bought for myself, but decided to give as a gift to my daughter. May buy again!

>>> MY WIFE WAS THRILLED WITH THEM
BLUE AMBER!! > My wife was thrilled with them --- what else matters? > The earrings are very well made. Impressive --- just as beautiful as the photos on the sales page (which is rare when buying jewelry online). > The size is ideal. The "stone" is small enough to be suspected of being a sapphire (a very expensive sapphire, but possible). If the stones were larger, viewers would instantly dismiss them as costume jewelry (glass or plastic). > The shape is appropriate --- they look like a drop of honey or tree resin --- which is exactly what they are (albeit fossilized and naturally mineralized). > COMPARISON TO FACETED AMBER JEWELRY: Some "amber" jewelry is cut into facets, and screams "plastic" or "glass". Amber has a low refractive index -- which means that facets do not sparkle (like a diamond, ruby, sapphire, or emerald, or even glass). Amber is so soft that even moderate use would round the edges of the facets, reducing the appearance further. There is nothing wrong with being faceted, but if you like the faceted look, you may as well save some money and buy plastic or glass. > My wife tells me that they are very comfortable, because they are very light weigh --- which is the case, because amber is naturally very light in weight. Some amber is so light that it will float on water. > These are a natural "stone" --- presumably the color may vary within a narrow range. But the pair I received were EXACTLY the color pictured. A gorgeous deep dark mysterious blue. Beware that the photos are in directly light, on a white background. However, on a dark background (such as tanned skin), especially indoors in low light, they are dark --- and may appear nearly black (as other reviewers complain). But so would any other rich blue gemstone, glass, or plastic. Basically, that's just physics. Visualize any jewelry with consideration of the background (skin, hair) and the lighting it will be seen in. > In reasonably bright light, the blue color is visibly blue even on my well-tanned brunette wife --- inviting the question about what the stone is --- which my wife (an amber lover) is delighted to explain. > If you want a more obvious color for a tanned brunette to wear indoors (or otherwise in low-light), then choose yellow, orange, or red amber --- I'm sure that they are just as gorgeous --- albeit, not so rare, and not so much of a conversation starter. > By the way, this is real amber, from the Dominican Republic. (Remember? That is where the amber mine was in the movie "Jurassic Park"). Although most amber is honey colored; red, yellow, green, and blue amber do exist, but are much more rare. > Beware that amber is not a hard gemstone, but rather is comparable to semi-hard plastic; amber is much softer than ordinary glass (or even ordinary "rocks" or pebbles). All amber has to be handled and treated with care. Amber is not a recommended gift for a careless child, of any age. For such an individual, buy garnets or amethysts (or glass), which are much more durable.

Beautiful earrings, but I don’t like the hooks
I really like these earrings. I go well with the necklace, but I don’t like the hooks. I’ve got long earlobes and my ear is double up in the hook, cause there’s not enough room and then the clasp closes and pinches my earlobes. Put just plain hooks on these things.

Beautiful work I just want a lighter color.
They are well made and so smooth…I’m a little disappointed they are so dark people can’t tell they are blue. Any chance I can trade for a lighter pair? In the picture on this review they’re just the color I expected mine to look like. Thanks for your consideration. Of a trade. Hi

These earrings are as beautiful as they looked in the photo on the Amazon website.
At first glance, I loved these earrings. They are a gorgeous, rich blue (as pictured). But, upon trying to put them into my ears, I found them difficult to get in. Of course, I’m 78 years old & my holes may be have become become smaller with age. I still love the earrings & will probably buy them in another color, in spite of the difficulty in getting them into my ears. They are extremely light weight & very giftable.
