TIGERSECU 2MP Metal Long Range Security Camera for TVI/CVI/AHD/CVBS DVRs

Quality camera. Bought this to replace a defective Q-see camera. Feels solid. Unplugged the defective camera and plugged this one in. Came right on with excellent quality. Very concise image. Highly recommend this Tigersecu camera.

I came from 960H cameras to this. It is quite the noticeable improvement. During the day there is much more detail to everything and at night the night vision works so much better. There's no white halo at night that there is with my other cameras. I regret that it pixelates when you use the zoom feature but as these are not PTZ's (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) it's to be expected. I need to be able to positively ID someone at a location about 50 feet away. While this provides a good picture, much better than I had with 960H, it's still not enough at that distance unfortunately. Looks like I'm gonna have to get a PTZ because there's nowhere between here and there to mount a camera any closer. I'm not using it at night for this but as a side note the night vision works straight out to about 25 feet easily. My only complaint really, and it's not limited to this camera and not about the camera at all actually, is the quality of the mounting screws. The included screws are extremely weak and strip very easily. Tiger, QSee, Zmodo, Swann, etc in the same price range all came with poor quality mounting screws. Do yourself a favor and go get three quality, stronger screws with a larger head that won't strip to mount the camera with. You'll thank me later. Overall, if you're still using cameras less than 2MP, or 1080p, these are well worth the upgrade for both day and night use. One thing you'll probably have to do is change the bit rate in your dvr. My TigerSECU dvr has low, medium and high settings yet even on high the picture was very bad. Then I noticed the custom option. Even on the high setting the bit rate was only 4000 something. Using the custom setting I set it as high as it would go, around 10,500 kbps and that eliminated virtually all of the pixelation. So when you first plug it in if there's a bad picture try that. Edit: I had to drop a star because one of the cameras has begun switching to nighttime mode randomly during the day when it's not even cloudy. I think the sensor is going out already.

Great night vision. very clear. long term life is yet to be determined though, well see. I'm using this on my old Analog wired Night Owl 16 Channel AHD system.

i need to start at the beginning before i purchased this camera. I had a 8 camera GW Security system to start with and after one year had nothing but trouble with it... the mother board went out once then the cameras started to get flaky.. thought it was the cameras but all of them??? doubtful. so i did some more research and found tiger security system and purchased it without the hard drive as i already had a 4 gig. After installing it and using it for several months this is by far the best system i have used and i have used several. Zmodo, Aztec and GW security etc. The only issue i have with it is the mouse is to sensitive and at times you have to click several times and maybe it will go. The reason i purchased the camera is one of the GW cameras failed and since this system works so well i thought i would try there cameras. Good decision on my part they are a lot crisper and clearer than my other ones.. Bottom line is i wish i found this system first.

No Good completely quit working.

This camera is almost identical to the one it is replacing, but the older one that broke (IR illumination LEDs no longer working) was of a lower picture quality. For the price, this was an amazing upgrade. The connections to the Tigersecu DVR were the same as those used by my previous camera(s), so it was an easy drop-in replacement. The base of the camera was even the same as the old one, with screw holes lining up, so it was not difficult to replace the old camera with this new one. It works great and has (I believe) more IR LEDs than my older camera, so night vision is a bit better than it used to be. I may be ordering more to replace the rest of my cameras.

Very happy with the quality of the cameras and the picture quality they provide. Great tech support and good local California company. I returned another set of cameras that were not as nice quality as these ones.

Beautiful picture & easy to install.

The camera works well. It doesn't do low light color. I haven't used it through a winter yet so not sure on cold weather performance. This is my second purchase so I'm happy with it.

Bought 2 of these cameras. Had one installed and I was so happy of the quality of the image specially the night after it was installed.. worked for 2 days then it died! Now I have to go all the way up the house siding to remove it.. very disappointed.
