Dyson 966489-01 Soft Roller Cleaner Head, Compatible Only with Dyson V6 Models

After trying several different flooring attachments, all of which required multiple passes to get everything we could see on our wood floors, we finally decided to splurge on this one. What a find! It gets pretty much everything on the first pass! If it does miss something, it's usually because I didn't position it right. 5 out of 5!

It's an interesting (and weird) design for a vacuum. I was skeptical at first, expecting dust & debris to stick to the soft cleaner roll inside... but it remains surprisingly clean after vacuuming all day, even on the dirtiest surfaces. I'm obviously no engineer, but Dyson clearly did proper work on this. For as unorthodox as the design is, it works very well without any issues sucking up even the smallest of debris on hardwood floors. I really recommend this for anyone who has non-carpet floors. For those concerned about whether it will work with the V6 models... the answer is YES it will. Just be sure to buy the specific one designed for the V6 model on this page. The ones designed for the other models like the V7, V11, etc. are NOT cross-compatible. You cannot switch the parts between the different Dyson cordless vacuums, so be sure to purchase the correct part for the specific Dyson vacuum that YOU have (else you'll end up with the cleaner head that doesn't fit yours, as some reviewers here have shown). Overall, it works very well. It's just pricey for what it is, but the Dyson tax is expected. You won't be disappointed, even if your wallet might hurt a bit.

I am very satisfied with this item, works perfectly with my Dyson. It picks up everything, and works so well on hardwood floor. The design is great, easy to maneuver around the small spaces. It's very smooth on the floor, no scratching.

Is a perfect fit for my 11 year old Dyson vacuum. Quality looks the same as my original Soft Roller Cleaner Head!.

Be sure the correct part # is used . There are several used for the same general model appliance. For example Dyson v6 vacuum has different v6 vacuums . Some sellers point out checking your exact model.

Perfect replacement.

This thing is pretty fantastic. I’ve been wanting one for the last couple of years, ever since watching a demo at Costco. We have all hard floors and a couple of area rugs. With small children there is always all sorts of larger chunks on the floor. This thing gets them all. It’s not as effective on the rug as the original vacuum head for my Dyson V6, but that’s not what this is for. This is for Hart surfaces, and particularly designed to pick up chunks that the original one had simply pushed around or spit out. Don’t get me wrong, it was a little hard to initially justify the cost, but since I use this vacuum nearly every day to clean the kitchen and living room of the unbelievable amounts of dog hair of that our lab leaves behind, I figured it was worth it. I was not wrong.

Love it! I got a knockoff and I learned quick to not do that again. It would leave a trail when you pulled back. This thing gets in the corners! Better than the original that came with my vacuum
