As durable as the name implies and full of fun illustrations
We own 4 of these books and our baby loves them. We love them too. It's not only that she can yank pages and sink her little teeth into corners and not come away with a third of a page. She even loves the texture of these pages more than actual paper. There's something about the material that she loves slipping around on and slobbering all over. I really look forward to the time when she can understand what's in the books, but it's so cool that they function as a toy in the meantime. Reading them with her now is more of a wrestling match, but the fact that I don't worry about damage means I can read and show her the pages up close, which I think leads to her understanding them better.Like some other reviews said, they do crinkle and bunch up, but they do not rip. If you really really tried, you could definitely mess up a page, but by the time my baby gets that strong she'll be on to bigger books. This product is simple and cheaper than it has any right being, given it's quality. It's portable and very safe. I give it to her in the car when she is fussing and it distracts her, and I don't have to worry over it getting ripped or dirty. This particular book is very simple, just cute cartoon drawings matched with words. Some of the words are not your first thought, but I chalk those up to regional differences or word variety on the part of the writer. An example of a word in the book being 'fire engine,' and I find myself saying 'firetruck' when pointing out the illustration to her. The illustration is done well and consistent across all books, but others do have some form of narrative so you can diversify from find and identify to a more traditional story time. All in all, this book is excellent and I imagine soon we will have the full collection. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to familiarize their baby with books and foster a tactile interest in them in a way that won't result in a ticker tape parade of pages.

Great for babies who like to eat everything!
My 5 month old has reached a stage where she doesn't like sitting and looking at books much. She would much rather eat them. We have lots of board books that are okay for her to chew, I guess, but even those can get soggy after awhile, and I didn't feel confident that they were safe for her to be munching on constantly. I had heard about these indestructible books and thought I'd give it a try.I chose the Baby Babble book because I liked that it has words describing the items on each page. I think that will give it some good long term value to learn the words when my baby is older. I think the nursery rhyme ones would be fun, too.My baby *loves* this book. It's a unique texture and shape for her to explore because most "paper" items are not baby friendly. She immediately gravitated to it after it was introduced in her toy collection. She licks it, chews it, crumples it, grabs it, throws it, and occasionally will sit and look at all the pictures.Yes, it does get wrinkled. But I figure there are 3 options: board books that can get soggy and aren't necessarily non-toxic, paper books that will get ripped to shreds, or indestructible books that will get wrinkled. I guess we do also have a cloth book that baby seems to like a lot, too. But again, I think the unique texture this offers baby is great and why she loves it so much.Highly recommend having at least one of these for baby!

Ideal Book for Travel and Diaper Bag
Extra extra! Read all about it! Perfect baby book for traveling!I really love this book. The Indestructibles series has many titles, but this review is specifically about the Baby Babble one. What I love about this title is that each page is a large scene with labeled objects. So, for example, the first page has a little girl (labeled "baby") on a picnic blanket with her "bunny", "bowl", "bottle", "cheese", "spoon", "banana", and "apple". These books are great for playing the game "Point to the..." and "Where is the..." My daughter is 17 months now and we've had this book since she was 13 months old. We purchased it in preparation for a plane ride and family vacation. She loves looking at the book independently, and when she's seated in her stroller with this book open, it looks like she's reading a baby magazine or newspaper. It's adorable. I always keep it in the diaper bag. We never leave home without it.I highly recommend this title, as well as the series in general. The Indestructibles books are extremely well-constructed. The binding is sewn tight. The pages are rip proof and non-toxic. They're great books for pulling out at restaurants, where books often get lots of food on them. I've even put it through the wash (front-loader, gentle cycle). As some commenters noted, the pages may get wrinkled. For me, this has only happened to the front and back covers. If you're really bothered by it, you could probably iron the book on a low setting, covering it first with a burp cloth or something so as to not melt the pages. Overall, absolutely wonderful book!

Brilliant! We love these books!
What a fantastic idea for the baby/toddler that puts everything in their mouth! It works exactly as they said. My 16-month-old son has chewed on it a lot and been very rough with it, but it is still in tact. The pages can get crinkled and wrinkled up but whatever these pages are made of, it holds up and hasn't affected his love of them. Yes, the pages are simple, with only a few words labeling items like the cover shows, but the pictures are bright and colorful. He really enjoys just flipping through it independently and studying the pictures. When we look at it together I ask him where things are and he will point to the pages. I kind of like that they are simple so I can change up the things we talk about or look for. It can be washed with warm water and mild soap. I will be buying this for unique baby shower gifts in the future.
