CENTERPIN Float Fishing Reel W/2BB in Original Box

Spins freely and does the job. However I think the design is poor. The black plastic covers the nut that secures the real to the mounting bracket. This tends to get loose and you need to tighten it. While fishing the nut unscrewed it self and fell into the water. The real fell off and unspooled a bunch of line to make a tangled mess. This situation could have been much worse if the real had fallen into the water.You get what you pay for. Now dont take this as a green light to buy a $700+ kingpin...I would reccomend spending the 10-20$ extra to get the Chinese machined equivalent of this which is much higher quality, however a smaller diameter which is a bit weird in my opinion. I still do use the Chinese machined version of this and would recommend it as a starting point for centerpins, likely a better deal than the 100+$ brand name equivalent.

Well what can u say about a 30 dollar centerpin reel, u get what u pay for. The reel seems to be built decent I have not had any mechanical failures. There is a fair amount of plastic on the reel that I suspect will cause issues in the fiture. The cap that keeps the spool on the pin has to be set tight enough to keep the spool from having play which inhibits the ability to spin or loosened so that u can have free spooling but play in the spoolBottom line if u want a cheap reel to use once or twice a year to learn how to centerpin fish or just to goof around it's not a bad idea, if u fish alot for fish like steelhead like I do and u have the money then opt for a better more expensive model.Also of note I had to grind the metal foot on the reel it was too big to fit in my reel seat

im new to this whole centerpin type fishing. i paired this with a 10.5 feet south bend medium light action pole and for around 60 bucks i got a nice little beginner setup

works as i suspected for the price will do the job
