Everything My Last Shop Vac Was Not ...
I can't say enough good about this vac. I was originally a wee bit put off by the price, but after reading other reviews and springing for it, I agree wholeheartedly; worth every penny. It has plenty of suction power for my needs (dust extraction for power tools, mainly), it's adjustable, it's (relatively) quiet, it seems very well made, I appreciate the ability to store some small items on board and to corral the hose. I can't speak to longevity, as I've only had it a few weeks, but I find it hard to believe it won't outlast me. Highly recommended.

A new version of MINI, the smallest dust extractor in the Festool family of dust extractors.
The customers should know that this model is best compared with what previously was known as "Mini". I have several Festool dust extractors (a Midi, a couple of CT-26, and an extractor for drywall dust), so I am very familiar with them. They may not have the same amount of airflow as much cheaper vacuums from big box stores, but their turbine creates a much greater pressure differential which is super beneficial for sucking dust and air through small openings, such as from work surfaces of sanders or from a track saw. This one is a little too small for woodworking purposes, though. It has the same characteristics as its bigger brothers, but capacity of the dust bag is small and it does not have a wheel brake and storage of vacuum hose (kept on top of the vacuum with a rubber band) is a little awkward. I bought this one as a household vacuum. Its HEPA rating and strong suction makes a very effective vacuum for carpet or anything home cleaning may ask for. Also, the hose length is very good. Having said that, I must add that I also have (and had for a long time) a cleaning kit in a systainer. That one is outrageously priced for what it is and plastic is garbage (leaves black marks if you rub the tube against the wall), but it is a good thing and a necessary thing to have to be able to use this dust extractor as a household vacuum. What else to add? This cheaper model does not have an electrostatic hose, and does not have a bluetooth capability to interact with cordless festool tools. Be aware of that. With older generation corded tools, it works fine. The tip of the hose looks different, but it is fully compatible with older Festool tools and goes on top or into the dust port just the same. Be aware that Kapex, for example, requires a larger diameter connector, and probably a vacuum with a bigger capacity, so it is for smaller tools, predominantly. If bad comes to worse, Bosch used to sell a cheaper hose which matches Festool (Festool follows German standards for connectors, so anything German should work)

Believe the hype
Quiet, powerful, and keeps everything clean when attached to a tool, whether it's a festool or not. The vacuum is pricey considering what you can get a shop-vac for, but I now have a Domino, a sander, and this vacuum from Festool and they all live up to the hype.

Great dust control
Hands down a great vac. Very happy with dust control. Don't know why i did not buy years ago. Hepa is the way to go. Drywall sanding, chop saw collection, site clean up

Works fantastic and fires up only when I turn on the machine that the extractor is plugged in to.
Love this extractor… I can even use it indoors with my Festool sander and 3M paper.

Great for Beach Sand
We added the Standard Cleaning Set and use this for cleaning floors and vehicles. Here in Florida we can drive on the beach which adds tremendous quantities of sand to the inside of the vehicle. This vac system gets the sand off the rubber floor mats and the fabric seats beautifully. It also works great on tile and wood floors, even in the caged pool area outside. Low and easy enough to drag around without tipping. Low noise and good suction. Highly recommended!

Great dust collector
These are not the strongest suction wise but are great dust collector vacs. Can sand in living areas with a Festool sander and virtually zero dust. Pretty amazing although pricey. If you need to work in customers homes while they are living there vs a construction zone these are the gold standard. If you want a dust collector for your Festool sander yes if you want a shop vac buy a HD $100 one it will have better suction for larger pieces of debris. Wish they had hose caddy for the price but it does have a bunny on top to secure it.
