Case LogicLaptop Sleeve 17-17.3", Black

It is important to know that this is a very basic Laptop Sleeve. There are no inner or out pockets. It's a sleeve for a laptop without any extra stuff. Barebones.It's very good. It serves its purpose well.The padding is a smidge over 1/4 of an inch. Plenty of padding unless you like to throw your bag on the ground in a rush. This is not for you. You will probably need a metal case. =DOn a serious note, this case logic laptop sleeve is really high quality for a product that is only $13-14. The value is pretty incredible.I've read some people complain about the new smell. It may depend on how recently your laptop sleeve was made. The one I just received today does have the new smell (as it should!), but only if I put my nose up to it, like 1-inch away then I can smell the "new smell." I have it sitting on my desk right now about a foot away and I can't smell it at all. The smell doesn't rub on to your hands/skin either.Okay, the question that seems to be lingering on most people's minds is the size and fit. I have an Asus Ultrabook SC500A with a screen-size of 15.6-inches. Mind you, screen-size DOES NOT EQUAL laptop's overall size. I think this is the problem with most of the buyers making these complaints. Measure your laptop first and then check with the manufacturers listing. In most cases, always go a full inch larger with cases.With my Asus Ultrabook 15.6" screen laptop, it barely fits. It's a snug-fit but by no means do I have to force it in there. The zipper isn't grazing my laptop or anything. That was my major concern!Other things I should mention is the color. It's black. It isn't a funky, faded black color that comes off brown. I think that is pretty important to know. There are some cheap dyes being used out there. It's pure black and it looks good.Even the zipper handle has this covering on it so that it doesn't hurt your hand when you pull it. I thought that was a nice touch and it adds even more quality to the overall product.Overall, I'm extremely pleased. For this price, it's highway robbery. I'd like to thank Case Logic for providing products that have fair pricing, and many times great value. I know there are a lot of poor, hungry college students out there and most of them have laptops that need a good case that isn't going to crush your wallet. Overall this is a good case for temporary storage and transport of your laptop. I place my laptop within after use at night or if I am carrying it to another location or transporting in my car. It does have a bit too much room so I kept the foam pad that came with it for extra padding and just place my laptop inside. Since my HP Envy laptop 17.3" is probably one of the more thin laptops out there the extra room within the neoprene case was too much. The laptop was basically swimming within, so the foam packaging pad that came with it takes up the extra room. Overall good case, nice appearance and design with a good zipper. This would not protect the laptop from a fall or drop but it is great for a cover and adds moderate protection, probably good enough for a light rain or any spills. For me it also doubles as a lap pad for which I set the laptop on top of when working. Caselogic makes pretty good products and I own several of their camera cases and computer accessory cases. If you are looking around at different manufactures, Lowepro and Tamrac are also excellent products however mostly camera related.

I have carried my computer in it everywhere. Protects my laptop and roomy enough to put in the mouse and chord.

Happy with inexpensive cost, good quality, and decent fit. I recommend this sleeve for other mobile workstation users.Before I purchased this neoprene sleeve, I was a little concerned about how well it would fit my Dell mobile workstation (M6800: 16.5"W x 10.8"H x 1.8"D); I could not find any specific information on the fit for this exact laptop.The sleeve fits pretty well; however, it is very tight going in and feels like a glove fit (side to side). The only downfall is the excess material on the zipper side (front) once the laptop is secure inside; the sleeve is slightly too tall for this laptop, but it's minor and not noticeable when holding it in your arm.Overall, for the price point this is excellent protection (dirt, dust, moisture, etc); I wouldn't trust it for any type of drop protection onto the corners.

I was thrilled when I found a case this affordable to fit my new laptop. I've had this for about a month now and I've been incredibly pleased with it. I read lots of reviews of other sleeves that complain about the zipper not being protected which caused the laptop to get scratched. This case does not have that issue -- there is a nice layer of cushion between the zipper and the laptop so nothing gets scratched. The case itself has a decent layer of foam on the front and back, as well as around the edges, which protect the laptop very well. It's not going to prevent damage if you drop it on the ground, but if you're constantly carrying your laptop around in a bag it's going to prevent scratches. The case fits a 13" MacBook very nicely, and it also fits very well inside of a backpack or messenger bag. My main concern would be that with the case on my laptop, it would be too big for the pocket of my messenger bag, but the case only adds a few centimeters of extra space.One thing to note is that this case has foam padding and is not a neoprene case. I did not read in the description anywhere that it was foam and was a little disappointed when it arrived, expecting it to be similar to the inCase neoprene sleeves. However, I have been extremely happy with the product and I doubt that I'll end up buying one of the neoprene sleeves now that I've used it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a laptop sleeve for a 12-13" laptop.
