My 8yo loves building things and figuring out puzzle toys, so this absolutely ticks all of his boxes. He's had it for two weeks and plays with it every day, which might be a new record! My younger son prefers more straight forward toys, action figures, sports, markers, so he's not impressed that he has to work so hard to play with it, so it's definitely going to be a hit or miss depending on the child. Was a family hit for Christmas. Got for our 4 year old grandson. We were concerned of age but our grandson is a little smart for his age. It was the preferred challenge for his age. Very educational without them know it is. Great gift.

Tho it looks durable and fun, my 7 yrs old grandson did not like it. It was difficult and confusing for him to play alone.
