Great for allergies!
My dog has done extremely well on this food moreso than the “be natural” salmon flavor from Instinct. Her poops are finally firm and tiny (meaning she’s digesting the nutrients well). That alone makes the higher price per pound worth it. Also her allergies are significantly better and she’s itching a lot less. Wasn’t excited about the peas but it replaces the grains and it seems to be better for her that way anyways. Lots of long lasting energy for an 8 year old GSD too so carbs and blood glucose levels are good. High calorie content is also a huge plus so she gets 1.5 cups twice a day (72lbs and active). Her muscles are nice and defined on it, no weight gain, and her skin and coat look fantastic with no hair loss. Also her ear gunk has cleared up a lot and that’s a first. She’s allergic to nearly everything under the sun and finding a food without various animal fats, eggs, other animal protein, or yeast is a challenge. This fits all of those requirements. She tends to be a vacuum when it comes to food and rarely has issues with eating, this one in particular she really likes and goes crazy for it. I wish it came in large breed so the kibble could be bigger but it’s not that big of a deal. Makes for good treats too.The smell isn’t overbearing like some other brands for salmon and it’s dry so little to worry about as far as mold or pests. I keep it in a dog food container and stays great. A bag lasts us about 4-5 weeks depending if I use some for treats and days we have a lot of activity planned like hiking or bikejoring for a few hours and I’ll feed her some extra in the morning and after. All in all my dog is doing better than I could have expected and the price is well within my budget. Actual allergy friendly foods tend to go for $70-$110 a bag so $60 is REALLY nice. And as always I’m appreciative of the subscription discount and prime shipping. Never had any issues with delivery or payment (unlike chewy).

Dog with allergies
We have struggled so much over the past almost 6 years to find a food that works for our white lab. We've tried Orijen, Nature's balance, Royal Canin, Blue Buffalo regular dry food, Blue Buffalo GI prescription, as well as a few others. After finding out our lab has a few allergies which include Beef, Barley, Flax seed, and Sweet Potato, this limited our search. It's pretty tricky to find dog foods that don't include those ingredients, but that are also a high quality food.I spent many hours on DogFoodAdvisor.com over the last several years trying to figure out what we could feed him to fix his constant lip smacking after a meal (I'm talking 2+ hours of licking his lips incessantly after eating), vomiting, diarrhea, itchy paws, dry skin, and constant ear infections. It seemed like a food that would stop his vomiting would then cause reoccurring ear infections. We were getting really tired of ordering Blue Buffalo prescription food from our vet and paying $80 a bag for it (half the time they were out of stock or even worse- back-ordered and we had to feed my dog eggs and rice in the meantime).I believe my dog has acid reflux. This is completely self diagnosed as any vet we've been to has looked at me like I'm nuts when I've suggested it, but I think this explains the constant licking of his lips after eating. We noticed that he does best when he's on a wet food (no lip smacking and much less frequent vomiting). What is currently working for us is this dry food mixed with Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal High Energy HE Canned Dog food. We feed him twice a day ( 1 cup dry plus 1/2 can wet food). This has decreased his vomiting to maybe 1-2 times per month. Still a work in progress but this food has been consistent and so far in the 6 months we have been using it and we've never had a bad bag like we have experienced with other dog food manufacturers!Another thing I wanted to mention that I'm not sure if most people know... is to store your dog's dry food IN the dog food bag and not to pour it out into a food storage container. We use a plastic food storage container, but we now keep the dog food in the actual dog food bag inside the storage container. The two issues with pouring the dog food out into the plastic storage bin are the plastic leaching into the pet's food and the other issue is if you aren't cleaning it out between batches, you could have old rancid food contaminating new food that you pour into the container which could be making your dog sick.

Picky eater dog likes it
Nutritional and small dog bites. Good value for the money. Little more expensive but good quality

Good
My dog likes it. I switched over from another instinct product and her poop definitely got softer over the days. The smell is very strong, not even fishy, just strongly like dog food. If you have a sensitive nose, do not leave out for too long.

I have a COMPLETELY new dog!!!!!!!!!!
I have a Golden Retriever who is allergic to EVERYTHING. Poor girl, it took me until she was two to weed out everything from her diet. She is allergic to all poultry, all fish, eggs, dairy, obviously corn, wheat, and soy, but also things like sweet potatoes and certain oils. She can eat the beef flavor ONLY of the Blue Buffalo canned (wet) dog food. I was feeding her that exclusively until I found this. This is the first dry dog food I have found that she can eat. Her goopy eye is all but dried up, she isn’t itchy anymore, and she behaves like a normal dog. For a long time we thought she was just naughty! She whined constantly and just couldn’t relax. It was all allergies. When you go and read the ingredients of dry dog foods, most of them have some type of poultry byproduct or fish oil in them. So what I do now is I feed her three cans of the Blue Buffalo Beef a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and then I free-feed this dry dog food. (I have it out 24/7 with fresh water beside it.) For reference she is about 60lbs. For the canned food it says feed one can 10 lbs, but I prefer 3 cans a day + the dry food and it seems she does too. I’m so glad I didn’t give up on this little girl and I hope this review helps someone! I grew up with Goldens, and this is my second one as an adult, and I have never had a Golden with so many allergies before. It sounds mean, but I always thought people who said their dogs had all these allergies were being dramatic. It is tough, but so worth it when you figure it out and that little puppy girl is finally able to relax and live her best life! We had tried pheromones spray, pheromone diffuser, thunder shirt, melatonin, natural herbs, medication- nothing worked. Turned it it was her food.
