This is the patio umbrella you’re looking for!
Fantastic, premium quality umbrella. I did the rabbit hole research and ultimately went with Purple Leaf for our cantilever patio umbrella. It’s a 10’ area of shade coverage, with 360 degree pivot and multiple layers of tilt, so there’s no sun angle we can’t block. It also looks beautiful on our patio, adds a high level of elegance, and the fabric is solid and substantial to looks at and also to touch. The base is a much smaller footprint on our smaller patio than our previous umbrella so this is a massive upgrade. They have one or two other higher tier umbrellas, some of which are commercial level—like you’d find at resort pools— and we didn’t feel the need to go there, but now I wonder how great they must be considering this is their entry-level model. The assembly was a breeze, and rolling it up and down is effortless. Emily gave us amazing customer support, guided me to the right base, and took the time to check back in to make sure all was well. We couldn’t be happier.

Sturdy patio umbrella
“The PURPLE LEAF 10’ X 13’ patio umbrella is outstanding! It provides excellent shade coverage with its large rectangle design, perfect for our garden and pool area. The 360-degree rotation feature is a game changer, allowing us to easily adjust the shade throughout the day. The aluminum frame feels sturdy and durable, and the grey color looks sleek and modern. It’s also easy to operate and adds a stylish touch to our outdoor space. Definitely a 5-star umbrella for any patio!”

Great umbrella and great value!
I set up this umbrella by myself with not much trouble. It as an easy setup with putting the umbrella up on the stand pole being the most difficult to do alone. It works really well, easy to use and sturdy. I bought the 9’ x 11.5’ size. The umbrella and the base (both by purple leaf) fit together well. Instructions called to fill the base with 90% sand and 10% water. I thought that would be a mess if I ever wanted to take out the sand or move it. I filled the base with water and stacked 4 50 lb bags of sand on the base. Works great. It is wind rated to 30 mph and it was a little breezy, I would estimate gusts to about 15 mph and no problems.Very sturdy and great value compared to other similar cantilever umbrellas.

Sturdy but time consuming to assemble
This is a durable and study umbrella; however, the assembly took more time than expected. Here are a few tips that may save you some time:- Because it’s so sturdy, it's pretty heavy. It’s easier to assemble with two people.- If you assemble parts of it indoors, put a blanket down first so it doesn’t scratch your floors and wait to put all the pieces together until it’s outdoors.- Pick a location that has enough space for opening and closing the umbrella (it’s larger than you’d expect) before you complete the assembly and attach to the base.- Fill the base completely with sand or water once you pick your ideal location.Other than this, it’s a great looking umbrella and has been an amazing addition to our patio!

Very fine umbrella, but lousy installation structions
This is a beautiful, well-made umbrella. We got it to replace a 10 x 10 canopy whose frame was destroyed in a windy thunderstorm -- the fourth such canopy we had over the years. We finally decided we needed a different method to shade our patio and keep the western sun out of our eyes while eating dinner on the patio. We didn't want to go with a permanently covered patio (which would block much-needed sun in the winter). So we decided that this large, maneuverable umbrella would be a very good alternative solution. It looks like we made an excellent choice.I can't yet comment on the umbrella's durability since we just got it, but it looks well-constructed enough that it's built to last quite some time. Years, I hope. (Given the price, that will be nice!)The frame is sturdy, the mechanisms for raising it and tilting it seem equally hardy, and the waterproof fabric is thick and, well ... waterproof! But I have one serious beef. This took MUCH longer to put together than it should have because the instructions are really lacking. As you know, the water tank base (which you DO NEED) must be bought separately, and there' a separate instruction booklet (2 pages) that comes with that. However, nowhere in either the umbrella instructions or the water/sand tank instructions does it tell you anything about how you need to position the tanks. Or whether it's best to try to fill them after you've set up the umbrella or before. The proper positioning of the tanks allows the foot pedal that control the umbrella tilt to operate. But at first glance it's hard to tell how those tanks should be positioned. (I filled them first, and put them as near the umbrella base a possible, but they're very heavy, so moving them takes strength-- particularly if you're a woman, and an older woman, as I am. I did position them wrongly, initially, so had to backtrack and partly unscrew the umbrella base in order to get them back out of position and turn them 45 degrees, and re-lift them into their new position.Secondly, the umbrella cross base parts (which fit into the water tank slots) don't look anything like pictured, so I at first thought they were missing. Fortunately, they were not. Also, the instructions for matching holes in several parts of the vertical posts are ambiguous, as there are many more holes than just the two they imply. Had I known all this ahead of time I could have cut the installation time by at least half.It would also have been very helpful for some instructions regarding how to position the umbrella. That may seem like a no-brainer, but it's difficult to tell ahead of time who the actual very heavy umbrella with its mechanisms, etc., is going to be positioned on the base pole so that it faces like you want it to. Moving it after the fact is almost impossible for one person, and difficult even with two. This CAN be put together by one person -- except for the final lifting of the umbrella itself, sliding it's pole onto the pole on the base. The nine-foot umbrella with all its hardware is amazingly heavy (and top heavy, which creates instability when lifting it). You have to lift it a good four feet to get it onto the base pole, so to do that it takes either one very strong person (with upper body/arm strength), or two people (which they recommend).

Works great!
I bought this Purple leaf umbrella with its base. When I received the order I noticed the base did not have the rolling wheels. I was disappointed. I contacted the Purple leaf manufacturer about the base and I was told the base with rolling wheels is sold separately for about $400 or so. I wish the manufacturer had provided the option of buying the umbrella with rolling wheels and not just a base without wheels. The manufacturer was nice enough to give me a 20% discount on my purchase on the original base that came with the bundle (umbrella with base). With the 20% discount on the base, I could buy wheels to assemble my own platform to make the base mobile. The umbrella is great and provides plenty of shades. When it is windy, I need to close it because it moves a lot (perhaps something for the umbrella designer to work on to make it more sturdy). I still gave it a 5 star because the Purple leaf worked hard to make me happy and the product is great and nice looking.
