The Great Pet Escape (Pets on the Loose!)

This is cute and entertaining.

When I first started reading this book I thought it was great. Before I read this book I didn’t like reading until I read the great pet escape then I wanted to read more so when the great art caper came out I went to the library and checked it out. Then once I saw that I was able to buy it and read it anytime I wanted without having to go to the library I thought that was great.

Nice story with pictures which kids love

THE GREAT PET ESCAPE by Victoria Jamieson is a hilarious graphic fantasy about what class pets do at night.When hamster, inventor, and class pet GW (George Washington) escapes from his cage in the second grade classroom, he sets off to free his friends. However he soon finds out that many of his peers like being class pets. Along the way, GW and his friends discover an evil plot by the Harriet, the fourth-grade mouse and must save their school.Designed for beginning chapter book readers, the simple, colorful panels and engaging storyline will appeal to the target audience.Although some of the humor may be “over the heads” of younger readers, they’ll “get” the general sarcastic tone. Librarians will find children asking for a sequel. Until then, connect this book with the many other beginning graphic chapter books published the past couple years. My 8 year old loves these books! He loves animals, so they are perfect.

My daughter is obsessed with this book. Fun characters, cute story. Some good jokes. Great for 2nd grade readers.

Fun read for the kids! Everyone from my 4 yr old to the 9yr old enjoyed this. It seems like about a gr2 reading level book and my gr 1ers wanted it read again and again.
