Okuma Longitude Surf Graphite Rods (Large, Black/Blue/Silver)

great heavy duty surf rod. handle is soft and easy to hold. for casting heavy weight for bottom fishing. really stiff. too heavy for casting jigs

I have had a few different rods from Daiwa, Ugly Stick and Penn. This rod eats their lunch. I have it paired with a Daiwa Bg5000 with 40# braid throwing 6oz and bait. I can’t get enough of this rod. It is heavier than a lot of other rods with comparable specs but gives you peace of mind when you are dragging in a bull red or a decent sized black tip.

I own a few salt water Okuma products and they are all inexpensive and very tough. This rod is no exception. I have the 11' model with 50# braid on a good sized reel for flinging bait and 2oz+ lures and I love it. The slimmer Cork tape handle is great, rods not heavy for size and is well balanced. I handled some nice size fluke and stripers with no problem. It has a nice fast action to it and the price on here beats retail which is always a good thing. Only negative is the shipping package its pitiful. My first rod arrived with a broken eye in a crushed box, My replacement arrived very fast but only by luck was it not ruined. There was a total lack of packing material or support in the box to protect the item. All it would take to fix is a cardboard shipping tube or at least more then one piece of stuffing in the box.

I love the Look and Feel if this 11ft Long Spining Rod: Longitude. The attention to detail is Excellent. The Guides are Double-Footed for extra strength. The Cork Handle is Smooth and well placed. I will use this Rod Mostly for Surf Fishing. I have now Purchased "another 11ft Longitude" This Rod is too good to pass up. Get one. UPDATE: Second one arrived Damaged in Three places: Connecting Joint, bottom Pealing or chipped; Guide missing, First guide Secomd half, and Chipped Guide insert, Bottom pole. If Dicks Sporting Goods had this Pole, "It would save me a lot of hazels...ordering and returning." Shipping is the Root of the Cause for damages. I would love to get one without issues.

Rod arrived in perfect condition. I have used it to cast 4oz weights and fish on the bottom with 40lb braided line. Works like a charm. I got the spinning version of the okuma baitfeeder reel. Very happy with the setup and quality after using it. Now just need to catch some fish.

This rod performs great! Seriously. First tested Striper fishing on the Cape Cod Canal. The first 2 times out the rod performed beyond expectation and caught several “schoolies”. But the third time, while reeling in a cow the rod snapped below the 3rd eyelet. Now, those of you not familiar with the Cape Cod canal, the current is super strong and the rocks you fish from are slippery than Whitey Bulger. I landed the fish. A 48” keeper. But, I will never buy another Okuma product. Typical. Initially a well made product. But, it’s popular, demand inceases and then pressure for margin so, you hire differently, QC differently - because after all need to ship faster... The most recent reviews are very consistent; last month the avg customer review slipped from a +4 to a -3.5. The people don’t lie... I am now the proud owner of a St. Croix, which I highly recommend.

I use surf rods for bank fishing trophy catfish. I've paired it with a Penn 750 Slammer spooled with 80 lb. braid. This rod easily chunks my large baits and 4-6oz. weights out where the big ones lurk. Broke this rod in hauling in a 35 lber amongst standing timber and it performed like a champ. I've also owned a 12-footer paired with an Okuma Epixor 80 for about a year and never had a problem with it. The guides, reel seat, and cork handle have all held up well through the use/abuse I've put it through. Very satisfied.

Showed up in a plastic bag… literally a bag and was smushed at the tip. The tip is broken and bent, really need to ship these in a tube.

The eyes on the rod were broken. Quality is so so. Would recommend ugly stick
