This toy is brilliant.I love it when any item, not only toys have more than 1 use, and that is the case with this one.Threading is brilliant Montessori activity for toddlers from about 18 months. This toy is described starting from 2 years old, and the box says 3 years. My son is 19 months and I picked this one for him but he plays only with us being present and when finished, I pack it away safely.The beads are made of solid wood, but are totally smooth all around - I checked each one. They are fully painted all around. The pictures are nicely and sharply printed on each side, and there is wide selection - dinos, animals, food. This might be a small detail - but I love that the cow is brown and white - so far every book and toy of cow that I have seen shows cow being black and white only - so it's a nice realistic change. Each bead goes through each of the needles easily - I really did check each one before playing with my son. The wooden needles are totally smooth as well and ideal size to be handled easily. They are not pointy either. The strings are sealed at the end just like a shoelace, you just need to make a knot at the end to make sure that the beads don't go through while playing.The magnetic part of this toy is also very well done. The 2 magnetic rods have wooden handles, and again are totally smooth. The strings are of ideal length - not too long to be off putting, but long enough to be challenging. However, should you prefer it shorter to start with, you can shorten it by twisting it around the rod. Each rod works very well with each bead - again, I really did check each one before playing. The magnets are all firmly attached, in just about the right place as not to disturb the picture too much, but at the same time to ensure that there will be enough balance for the magnet to work. The magnets are only on 1 side.The beads are thick enough to be able to be used for stacking, which is again a brilliant activity for toddlers - so you could say that this toy is 3 in 1 - threading, magnetic fishing, stacking - and this is the only threading toy I found - providing so much fun in 1.I also loved the packaging. It was packed in small box, and each bead has it's own space and there is no extra unnecessary space and packing to make the toy look bigger, so it's kinder to environment. You also get a storage bag.I definitely recommend this product.

Oh this is a super game. It's great value for money, brightly coloured and very sturdy. My 2 and a half year old nephew had a terrific time playing with this game. It was educational, with different ways to play, like matching colours, or animals or fruits and he really enjoyed 'fishing' for the shapes with the rods and magnets. The rods and shapes were the perfect size for his little hands.

These were a great toy, but the size of the bead is a lot smaller than expected. I have to watch the child when playing with them as they are small enough for them to fit into the mouth, but big enough to not be swallowed. I have a very oral fixated child who puts everything in his mouth.

The product is great but did not come with laces?! I assume they are missing but meant that the gift wasn’t useable. Embarrassing to gift an item that is then incomplete!

Worth the price. Keeps little one occupi3d for hours and also great for gross motor skills
