"OK" for the money
Unboxing, it is fairly impressive. Very lightweight which is a good thing with these. Instructions, are ok, if you are "inclined". If you are not, they might be a little confusing. They were pretty straight forward, but the pictures don't show a lot of detail. After I installed all the little loops, I discovered that they put the end cap on the wrong end of the shaft for the loops, so I ended up putting the loops on backwards. So, their small mistake caused me to make a larger mistake. No big deal, I just had to take them all off again, flip them around after I pulled their cap off and put it on the correct end. Cost me about 15 minutes of assembly time. I didn't pay the $40 or so for their short mast, instead I just bought a $7, 10 foot stick of electrical EMT 1" conduit. It is snug, but will need a little "fitting", but I get 10 feet of elevation instead of their 4' or so for a fraction of the money. It worked fine my way. Got my antenna up 10 foot over my roof line. After a bunch of pointing, finally got 2 channels, but that isn't the fault of the unit, I am in a bad area for any reception, so I was hoping for at least one channel. Signals are weak, but it is what it is, at least I have something. Now, for the big turn off. The little remote for the rotation, isn't worth it's weight in doo doo. It has two buttons, and I assumed one was for one direction, and the other for the other direction. Not so. Either button goes in whatever direction it wants to go in. Direction is completely random for both buttons. I think they both are the exact same connection. The box has one button to control the rotation, and it also is random. So, you just have to keep playing with it until it goes in the direction you want as someone else is watching the actual antenna. So, it takes two people. Wish there was a direction indicator on the box, but it doesn't, nor should it be expected for a $40 antenna. But, it would be nice, because you have no way to know which way it is rotating, or direction it is pointing unless you have a 2nd person watching the antenna. So, that said, pointing and rotating it is sketchy as hell. But after a lot of communication with your helper, and cussing, and figuring out which way it is going and which way you want it to go, we finally got it to pick up the channel we would looking for. Grounding your mast? Well, yes I did, but after looking at it, if lightning hit the antenna, it would still find it's way to your TV because most of this thing being plastic, including the housing for the rotator, and the mount to mount it on the mast being all plastic, the mast is completely isolated electrically from the actual antenna, so grounding it might be a false sense of security. Just be sure your TV and equipment is plugged into a good surge protector, because that is your protection, NOT the mast ground. All said and done, I think for the money it is fine, but don't expect a lot for a $40 antenna. I thought that was a good price for one that had remote rotator even if that rotation function is sketchy as hell. Just saying. Would I buy it again knowing now what I didn't before I bought it? yeah, I probably would. It works fine. One more thing that irritated me I might want to add. The "wings" that flip up and the other down are a pain. The one on the bottom will stay put because the base won't let it move once assembled. But the top one, has these little slides that I only assumed are supposed to be some sort of a lock to lock it open. The instructions never mention anything about them, or how to lock them open so I assumed. However, they are sketchy as hell also and awkward to operate. I got them to "lock" open, but it doesn't take a lot to defeat them and it slam closed again. A brisk wind would probably slam it closed which you could imagine would be a total pain in the ass if your unit is 20 feet in the air with the only way to open it again would be climb up there, or take it back down. How I licked that problem or risk, I simply wired the top wing open so a wind or movement couldn't close it while it's up there. So, now I dont have to worry about that.UPDATE: I have had and used this antenna now for nearly a year. I was a 4 star review at first. Now that I have time with it, it is now a 3 star with me. It would be a 2 star, but the price of this, I have to expect it not to be perfect, so, for the price range, it might pull 3 stars. The antenna itself, I have no problem with. The rotation still works fine, with the exception the direction issue I posted in the original review. But, I tolerate that. The biggest problem with this antenna is the control box/amp itself. It is cheaply made, and we have to constantly jiggle it, and play with it to get a good signal. It isn't the incoming signal because on the 2nd TV, it s generally fine, but on the #1 TV, it wigs out often and pixelates. Sometimes the wife goes up and jiggles the box, and it gets better, but not great. It is in the box itself that has an issue. I have opened it a couple times, and re-soldered the solder joints in it to make better connection, but to no avail. And yes, being an electrician with extensive soldering and component experience, and knowledge, it is soldered correctly now. But, it still has issues. So it isn't the connections, it just the box itself is junk. I am considering finding a new, different booster/box. Would I still recommend it? Maybe, for the price. But you would have to tolerate it's shortcomings, and tinker with it, or just spend more money on a better quality one.

good value I would recommend it to people
I would not install this on my roof because of our harsh winds and winter weather. It works fine in my attic and I was surprised that it picked up so many stations. It was easy to assemble and test. The pole shown does not come with the unit but I wasn't expecting it to be part of the unit. I only have a minor problem with the remote it seems that one button should make it go cw and the other button should make it go cow. That is not the case but I can live with that the reception is very good.

If you are sick of cable this antenna will get you all the channels you need. 160+ in Phoenix!!!
I am blown away with the performance this little antenna gets. I bought a receiver in Phoenix, and it came with a window Antenna, I got 4 channels. So, I had wires to my roof from DirectTV, so I bought this and hooked it up to the cable, Used the remote to point it while watching the channel I had already found. Then, I pressed discover, and I found 160+ channels. I can't believe the content available for free. The high def is better than I was getting on Cox or DirectTV. This is amazing. The little $40 receiver will record, pause, etc, by adding a memory card, so I have the setup I had before that was costing me $100+ month. Pair this with Hulu, and Netflix, and I have everything I could ever want for television at a fraction of the cost. I mean, I am getting internet one way or another, right?Setting this up was cake. I used the pole from DirectTV, and clamped it on. Hooked up the power to the unit inside, and with the remote you can turn the antenna. Be careful not to turn around too many times as the cable will get twisted. However, once it was pointed I have never moved it. I get full HD quality, perfect picture on every channel available in Phoenix. If I turn north I can get Flagstaff channels, and I can probably get Tucson, too.So, if you are tired of paying a ridiculous rate for crappy cable or satellite, do what I did. Get an Apple TV, or equivalent, buy a nice receiver for HDTV with pause and record capabilities, and buy one of these. If you have DirectTV or Dish, use the Cable for the antenna that is already run, and installation takes minutes. This will also run two TVs but I haven't tried that. I am so happy with this antenna, I love HDTV and I will never go back to Cable or satellite. You will be shocked at the content available. Movies channels, all the networks, etc. It is amazing.

Does not work as advertised
Does not work as advertised. To start with, when I opened the box to assemble the antenna there was a small part missing. After numerous emails with their customer service they sent me the missing part, took several weeks I purchased this to replace an existing antenna to get a stronger signal. I live in a rural area about 65 miles from the main tv broadcast antennas. I have a "60" mile antenna that works ok most of the time and am able to watch the stations I want most of the time. . However the SKYTV will not pull them in at all. It will barely pull in some closer stations. I mounted this antenna on a pole outside my house, I tried rotating the antenna to tune in the stations, no help. I will have to take it down and put my other antenna back up! Disappointed, would not recommend. As some other people have said, the construction seems light weight, not sure it would hold up anyway and the paperwork/instructions are not great. And with the delay in getting the parts I am now past the 30 day return window! I definitely would not recommend this productl
