Lush Life

I am a big fan of this album and know it well. I was disappointed with this Prestige version from the opening bars of track one. I do not know if I have a bad pressing or if the entire edition is poorly mastered, but it is missing significant high frequency content that is present on my digital copy and another vinyl edition it turns out.I purchased the 180g Wax Times version (same price on Amazon) to compare, and I have to recommend it instead. The difference is not subtle, at least between my two copies. You can enjoy this recording too, I suppose, but for similar money the other version seems superior.

Coltrane is smooth, highly recommended.

The record is great, but the package that it was delivered in was not fit for a vinyl record. As a result, the record cover was bent and the record itself is not exactly flat. I’ve received records in the past before and they’ve come in boxes that have been very accommodating for records, but this time it was placed in a very bendable and not stiff package which resulted in damage to the album cover

Great pressing on vinyl for this. Didnt have any issues.

Just took the record out today to play it for the first time and the record is warped enough to cause the needle to bounce and make a this sound.

Prestige release of a Coltrane classic. The pressing is warm and vinyl is relatively flat (with the plants cranking out titles, most these days have at least a slight warp especially 180G). A must have for your Coltrane collection.

At this stage Coltrane was still some way off finding his feet before he really became a leading figure in jazz, but you can hear the quality in his playing none the less. Don’t be talked into ignoring these early Coltrane albums they are all really good, and only lesser in comparison to the dizzying heights he would soon achieve.

Great album. The OJC pressing is excellent. The are such a bargain in today's vinyl world. The only problem is that my lp was warped. I sent it back (Amazon is so good with returns) but the replacement was the same. The vinyl is probably 120 grams, so that could be the problem. Still, I am keeping this copy because it was such a good deal and the sound seems unaffected by the warpage.
