6/3 UF (Underground Feeder - Direct Earth Burial) Cable

The product you get is not what is pictured. It is multi strand, with a small ground wire thrown in. Loose sheathing, not extruded like he picture.

By looking at the picture, I was under the impression this was a round wire with a thick heavy sheathing. I received a flat grey wire and the sheathing is easily torn and scratched when pulled . Assuming the wire was round led me to buy a conduit one size smaller than what would have been needed to easily pull the wire through. The guage was correct though and the length was within inches of what I ordered.

This is overkill for my 40’ cabin to shed underground run, but will more than do the job. Cabin has breaker box and shed has small supplemental box. Used grey plastic conduit in trench because soil rocky. No small effort pulling cable and bending conduit around large rocks, but it’s done.
