How long does the battery last?

The batteries last quite a while, I did a shoot of some wedding couples, about 1 1/2 batteries in almost 6 hours.

Where do I plug this thing in?

This item is a separate charging unit for your cannon camera. It is capable of charging two batteries simultaneously. The unit needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet. The battery or batteries fit into the slots provided. They charge quite quickly.

How long do the batteries usually last?

That depends on your usage. I can take many hundred pictures but I don't use the viewing screen. The viewing screen uses the batteries to a large extent.
