An Illustrated History of Notable Shadowhunters and Denizens of Downworld

This is a really nice addition to my collection of Shadowhunter books. The first thing I want to praise is the shipping I knew that it didn't qualify for Prime shipping so I expected it to take awhile to arrive, my expected delivery date was 2/3/17 and I got it on 1/24/17 so the shipping was way faster than I expected which was great!Now on to the book itself, the first thing I noticed was how heave the book feels, it feels very solid and like it is good quality, the pages are thick and colorful and very beautifully illustrated. I have flipped through the book but not read all the profiles as I haven't finished reading Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy, and I'm not sure if there are any spoilers for certain characters. I would recommend being up to date with the books that are out because I did notice some things that were mentioned that happened in the later books and if you haven't read them it would spoil what happens to certain people.From what I have seen I really like the illustrations and the tarot card style, I read a couple reviews where people complained that some characters didn't look as expected, but obviously everyone is going to imagine each character their own way, this also happens with the movie and the tv show based on the series, the characters will never match perfectly to what we may imagine and I think it is very interesting to see a somewhat official look at these characters. If you are someone who may be annoyed that they don't look how you imagine then perhaps this book may not be for you, but if you're curious about seeing a different imagine of these beloved characters then it is a great book.Also, I would like to recommend the hardcover version because it is very beautiful and while I'm sure the paperback is nice too, I think the hardcover makes it so much nicer.

I wish i could do half stars. The only reason is because it came in a little banged up on the edges of the cover. Though it slightly goes with it.Regardless got the book within a week and it was a week and a half earlier than expected.As for the book itself, I love the content in this book. There's some really funny anecdotes, some sweet sentiments, and other insights on all the characters. (Disappointed Kit wasnt in it but I get why.) Its a really heavy duty book. Very thick pages and has some weight to it. Its absolutely beautiful I love it.

I really loved the whole tsc universe and these illustrations were amazing, all the characters look great and I love that it dives them between series like TID, TLH, TMI, and TDA

What a beautiful book i read through it in 15 minutes 😀 i did wait however for it to go down in price from $25 to $15 i don’t think i would have been happy to pay full price but it is a great detailed book

It has some pretry cool little tidbits in it for each character. Some things ive never seen listed anywhere else. That was charming. I just wish there were more complete info. The artwork is mostly really good too. I love Cassandra Jean's shadowhunter art. BUT some of the depictions are less than accurate for some characters and their well known physical traits. Ex: both Luke and Amatis are known to have blue eyes. Its mentioned like, alot. But in the art, both are drawn with green eyes. I know its small, but like. C'mon. Other than things like this, mostly a good addition to your shadowhunter collection.

This book arrived 15 days after purchase, which was earlier than anticipated. The quality of the book is great, and the artwork is vivid and beautiful. I'm a huge fan of The Infernal Devices, and just recently finished reading Lady Midnight, and loved that as well. I really appreciated seeing secondary characters shine in this book, because the world of Shadowhunters is so vast and intruiging to me. If you're emotionally tied to these characters (*raises hand*), I recommend getting a copy of this for your bookshelf!

Lo pedí hace 1 mes, y la verdad me costo super barato, el envío y todo fue bien. Si tiene las esquinas un poco maltratadas, como dicen en varios comentarios, pero no es mucho y no se nota tanto, lo que a mi me encanto fue el interior, todo lo de cazadores de sombras lo amo! Si no te molesta esos pequeños detalles de las esquinas, si te lo recomiendo bastante!
