Yeah, no matter what I did to get it to showing a 6 Cylinder Rpm signal it doesnt work I would just recommend getting a good one. It will cost you more but why deal with this trash. An analog will be better for an older engine and that is what I needed it for. Instructions just do not show how to switch between number of cylinders.

Directions help for what wire is what but to set the cylinders I figured out you have to have the power off, hold the button on the back, turn power on, let go of button, click through the cylinder count and then let go for about 3 seconds to set the cylinder count.

Cylinder select is a push button not a slider not sure how to select the cylinder I need.
