Great for suture practice, thank you
So I am med student, hoping to become a plastic surgeon one day, and I just started my residency. My suturing definitely needed some practice to get myself ready for real life, so just like everyone else I was a regular at my local grocery store shopping for chicken breasts and pig’s feet, and practicing that way. Also banana peels were decent enough for practice… But such a messy way to practice, and often smelly! Yikes! Then one day I ran into one of my old teachers and he told me about these suture kits that you can buy online, that are so much better than the gross meat and banana peels. They are more realistic and are made just like real human flesh. So I went online and did some googling and a bunch of these suture kits came up. After some research and reading reviews I chose to go with this product. I clicked buy and the wait began. I was actually excited to see what this is all about and if the product was actually as good as it was promised to be. I am not a big online shoppers and have gotten super crappy products before, so I am very cautious. Soon enough the product has arrived and my first impressions were good. I liked the delivery time, arrived quick, I liked the packaging, the tools that I needed were already included, nicely and neatly organized. The board itself looked and felt quite realistic, similar to human flesh indeed and had lots of cuts, plus space for more cuts to be made. So overall I was pleasantly surprised, as I tend to be a skeptic and a critic. But the product was good, I’ve been using the suture pad and the tools for a while now, making new incisions over and over again, suturing away and getting better and better. Can’t wait till I can actually finally operate on a face all on my own! Soon this day will come, I know it! So here are my thoughts on this product: Pros: I like how this kit is organized. I tend to be messy and lose things, but here all the tools come in a box and I just put everything back in its place. It’s a complete tool set and has all that you need to practice: nylon threads, hegar needle holder, adson forceps, scissors, blades, etc. Not all online products had the whole set, which was part of the reason I went with this brand. The pad itself is made out of silicone, feels very natural, doesn’t rip easily, seems like its going to last quite some time, like its actually a very well made product. The mesh layer is a big deal too, I guess that’s the part that prevents the rips and makes it durable. Apparently this “mesh layer” is their strong point.. So far so good, no complains. The board had variety of wounds as well as space for me to make my own additional cuts. The size of the board is just right, I didn’t want to get a pocket size one as its just too small and not enough space for sufficient practice. The price was good. Very good value – because you get all this stuff in the package, that you will definitely use. As a broke student, I count my dollars! Cons: I wish the package included more suture thread types, I know nylon ones are good and most popular ones, but I would suggest to add variety of thread. Also I’d make the board even bigger with more space for cuts. But these are just my suggestions, everyone has their own preferences. Overall to sum up, I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to other students. Cheers!

Excellent Use for a Practicing Student
I am a current medical student that was hoping to improve my suturing skills and finesse. I have only had the product about a week or so now, but my initial experience has been quite good. Traditionally, most students tend just to get a pigs foot or if they have access, utilize a cadaver. While those are also great ways to practice, I personally feel like a kit such as this is more beneficial. The needle is able to pierce through the silicone easily and for the most part, it is very durable and able to hold any suture you can throw. In my limited experience so far, I have had one suture rip out through the edge, although I admit, this was most likely my fault: ie, I placed it too close to the skin edge/pulled too hard when tying the knot. That being said, I am not worried about the quality or longevity as the product has been holding up great aside from that. Another great aspect of this kit is the ease of use. As I have previously mentioned, most people default to pig's feet. This product eliminates the mess and cleanup associated with using a pig's foot. The suturing pad can also be easily reused for a long time to come, so you wont constantly need to run to the store anytime you want to practice suturing. You can also easily transport this with you as it doesn't take up much room and can easily squeeze into a bag or backpack. This allows you to practice on the go whenever you have some down time, which is a huge plus. Lastly, the kit itself comes with all of the tools you need so it truly is an all inclusive kit. There are multiple different types of incisions present on the pad that allows you to practice different suturing techniques and there even is plenty of room to create your own incision if you so please. The pad is a quality build and you can also easily distinguish between the different layers of skin/tissue that they are attempting to replicate. Overall, I highly recommend this kit. I think this is one of the best methods to practice (aside from actually suturing a real person) at an affordable price. It includes everything you need, it is portable, easy to use, and feels much better and is much cleaner than using traditional methods like a pig's foot. I will continue to keep an eye on the pull out strength/tearing of the silicone edge in terms of longevity of the product, but at this moment my concern is minimal and I think the pad will hold up great. I also want to give a shoutout to Artagia as they are working directly with medical students to improve their product. Their customer service has been fantastic so far and I hope they continue to work with all of us students to keep making the product better. Don't hesitate to jump on this!

Great Kit for suture practice! Practice makes perfect!
I started my residency 6 month ago and needed some suture practice to perfect my technique, as well as get enough confidence and steady hand for real life scenarios. Initially I tried using chicken breast and pig’s feet, and although the experience was close to real human skin texture and consistence, it was rather unconformable to practice that way, when I had to go to the store and buy meat every time I needed to do more practice… then freeze it and unfreeze it… was rather messy and smelly over time…. I wanted to find a better way and did a bit of research and found a couple of these training kits. I have to say, I certainly prefer this method for practice! I was very much impressed particularly with this brand and their product! Here are my thoughts below: Pros: The MESH layer in this pad is definitely a big deal! I tried another competitor pad and his pad was not good quality, the sutures ripped through the silicone under a little bit of tension and did not provide the proper simulation, I returned that one for a refund. This pad by ArtagiaMED is certainly better! The mesh makes the silicone pad much durable and prevents rips. You can remove the sutures and practice repeatedly on the same wound type because of that feature. Complete tool set. It included a complete tool set that has all you need to practice, and no further purchases are required. Don’t need to borrow the tools anymore from my supervisor. It came with 7 nylon threads, which you can always purchase more if needed later on. Good quality tool set and storage case keeps things compactly organized. Has pre-cut wounds and sufficient space for additional cuts. I was able to expand existing wounds and make additional cuts of my choice on the side of the pad to practice other various injury scenarios. There are other “pocket size” pads out there that are too small and do not allow for that flexibility. Good value. Some other brands sell pads and tools separately which adds up in cost, in this case you get all you need in one product and great price! Cons: I would make the pads a bit bigger but seems like this is one of the largest sizes on the market anyway… I showed it to my supervising doctor and she loved it! She said “I wish we had something like that when I needed practice 15 years ago!” She will recommend it to her other residents. 5 stars to this product! And company customer service was also great, quick delivery and communication!

MS3 using this kit to practice during surgery rotation
A lot of the reviews I saw either said this product was AMAZING or TERRIBLE, but not much in between. I find it to be a very solid product for what is advertised. For what I needed to practice, which was simple interrupted sutures and knot tying practice, it works perfectly. It is not great if you expect the silicone pad to be exactly like actual skin, and you want to practice different kinds of suturing. Here are some of the pros and cons that I found: Pros: - Tons of different sutures - great practice for simple interrupted sutures and knot tying - The silicone pad is durable enough to handle basic suturing - Packs away nicely - The tools are pretty well made Cons: - The silicone pad is much less durable than actual skin - Not good for practicing subcutaneous sutures or anything other than simple interrupted

Great value and plenty of suture test materials
This is not my first suture practice kit. The price has come way down, and there are tons to pick from. But if you aren’t a doctor, you will soon forget your effort. This is a great party favor for the introvert, and incredible introduction and stash of sutures of different thickness, and accompanying videos that actually get you started in knowing how to literally save a life when a hospital is not an option. You will learn a great deal once you feel competent with these practice materials. One day, you could suture arteries, know proper pressure when using a scalpel, and even will learn how to make hidden sutures. This kit is affordable priced, and will get you warmed up. Once you have these tools, you will find a vast access to advanced suture techniques are all available, and this allows you to practice… that just in case scenario. You may follow up by buying your own dissolvable sutures in various sizes, for any type of surgery. It is addictive. Great starter pack.

Great for Beginners
I am currently a PA student and when I first began learning how to suture, it was obvious it would require a lot of practice to become proficient. I was given a suture practice kit that my program purchased but I was very unhappy with it. It was very unrealistic and the deep layers were made of foam that ripped easily. In addition, the sutures were terrible quality and difficult to manipulate. I was becoming so frustrated practicing with that kit, and I was starting to think I would never be able to suture in real life. When I found this kit online and read all of the positive reviews, I was excited to try it out. The material is much more realistic and durable than my other practice kit. The sutures that come with it are good quality. I have been able to successfully throw every type of suture I have learned with this kit. My kit also came with a coupon for another full set of sutures to practice with; I just requested these today so I cannot comment on whether or not it is legit. The only cons I've found: the needle drivers are not great, but I just use another pair I got from school; the pad is sticky and picks up lint easily and cannot easily be cleaned - I should've kept it wrapped in plastic when not in use. Hope this helps!

excellent product!
After reading the reviews I decided to order, and was not disappointed! This is a well thought out teaching tool for learning proper suture technique. Needing to brush up on the skill and technique of wound repair I could not be happier with this as it comes with all you need. Even the video suggested is well done and i actually learned a couple new tips! Great value, great investment, highly recommend.

Pretty Cool
I'm not a med student - at all. I saw a similar product advertised, but this was practically an identical product, and a better price. Even though I am not a med student, suturing is still a valuable survival skill. This product provides a simulated opportunity for one to learn how to suture. The product manufacturer offers instructional videos and written guidance on their website. More instructional videos can be found on Youtube. Suturing can be a bit of a challenge, and does take practice. This kit allows one to practice. I also appreciate that the manufacturer offers an additional free kit of practice sutures if you follow the instructions they provide. If there is one improvement I might suggest, it is that they make their product with foreign objects stuck in the simulation skin so that one can practice incision and removal.
