PRODUCT FAILURE
Purchased to store small amounts of left over paints and stains. Because of our hot temperatures in Texas, the containers were kept on a shelf inside my laundry room. It’s been a few months and today I woke to a strong paint smell in my home. Found 1 of 2 cans split open along the side and leaked from the shelf onto everything below. What a mess to clean up! Ruined 3 fabric bags (also recent purchase on Amazon for $48.57 for the 3 bags) and the hangers inside. So I’m out the bags, hangers, stored paint and container, plus my house smells, my white shelf is stained and I had a sticky mess to clean up. DO NOT BUY!

Hard to take the lid off
I have no doubt these containers are sturdy and will do the job what ever the purpose. However it was a real struggle removing the lids. Not only for my wife but for me too.I'm no ten pound weakling but it was a struggle to get these lids off once on the container. I tried a coin , I tried a screw driver, and I'm telling you getting the lid off was not easy. I guess you can safely assume that they are airtight!! For me I find the difficulty inconvenient so I returned them.

Great for paint!
Got tired of keeping mostly empty gallons of leftover paints (saving for touch ups). These containers are perfect and allow for easy labeling with a sharpie. Not too easy to open, but that is perfectly fine for my purpose.

The only downside is that the lids are pretty hard to get off
I got these to store smaller amounts of leftover latex paint. They seem airtight, and will save space compared to the original gallon buckets. The only downside is that the lids are pretty hard to get off. A coin works best, as advised in the instructions. If you're only popping these open once in a while, it's no big deal, but if you wanted to access the contents frequently, it might get annoying, and the lids will get chewed up.

No More Rusty Cans
I found that all of my spare paint cans in my garage were rusting and becoming unusable, plus they took up too much room as they were all gallon size. I ordered 2 sets of these and transferred what was savable to these new containers. Wrote on the sides and tops with info about the paint & location used plus put a dab of paint on the top to show the color. I moved all my paint INSIDE my house to a closet setting 4 of these inside a dollar store dish pan and they all stack up very nicely. Highly recommend!

Seal well
One of mine had a hole! I thought I was spilling, but noticed paint leaking from the bottom of the can. But for a few dollars per container, not so bad. They seam to seal very tightly, which is great for long-term storage. You don't want any moisture evaporating from the paint. Also, I found that taking a utility blade/knife and removing a couple inches from the can lip will greatly improve removal of the lid. I learned this from a can of sheet rock filler that also sealed very tightly. Just be careful when using the blade so you do not cut through the wall of the container. The plastic is tough HDPE, so you will need to be forceful when cutting/trimming.

Use a large washer to remove the lids
It's true: the lids are very hard to remove. Instructions that come with them say to use a screwdriver to pry off the lid. But stamped on each lid is a note saying to use a coin. I found a large washer works great.

for paint
I use these to store house paint. I prefer these to the other plastic paint containers. I needed to make a special tool though to aid in opening. I also reuse them. The dried latex/acrylic paint will peel off.
