Wow
I didn't really know what to expect when I started this book except that I heard about it, liked the cover and it was October. But I loved the story, the feels, the setting and the spooky atmosphere. This whole book screams fall vibes and the moral of the story is even more amazing.

Spooky fun!

Despite this, Annie’s friendship with Sophie continues to grow, and they spend more and more time hanging out together at Annie’s charming apartment but mostly at Sophie’s huge but eerie castle home.𝗜 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁This book is categorized as a horror/paranormal book, but I would describe this as a cozy horror book with a feminist theme. There are plenty of scary scenes and spooky humor to keep you on your toes but not terrified. There are also lots of spiders with exceptional skills in this book, so be warned if you have a fear of them. As a Scaredy-Cat, I was never scared or freaked out by their behavior and will never look at them in the same way again (although size matters in this regard). Ralph, the spider, became one of my favorite characters.I loved that I wasn’t sure how the story would end and was happy with how things worked out.Drop this in your Trick or Treat bag if you’re looking for an unusual Spooky Season read!

A witchy delight!
What a veritable October treat the new novel CACKLE by Rachel Harrison is! An unconfident, unhappy 30-year-old teacher at a crossroads in her life, Annie moves to a quaint town in upstate New York and gradually begins to come into her own through her friendship with longtime resident Sophie, who maybe, possibly might be a witch. A female-empowerment fable of poignance and wicked delight, CACKLE is wildly entertaining and cozy to a fault, featuring thoughtful prose, vivid characters, and more than a couple seriously creepy moments. I devoured it in a matter of days and was sad when it came to an end; I would have been perfectly happy to live with these characters for another 300 pages. CACKLE is the perfect witchy autumn read.

Boring
I pretty much enjoyed her debut novel, this one is a boring mess. The plot is so silly , a witch , house full of spiders, a friendship among two women that are so empowered without any " evil men"....i got it. Want to write a feminist story, go for it, but nothing happens in this book. Its not scary, not funny, not a thriller, just one annoying character .Huh.
