Amazing Optical Splitting
I use this to split an optical signal between an amplifier that I use to play music inside the house and another amplifier used to provide music to my patio. It works great and now I can play music in the house, on the patio or both simultaneously! There is no lag in the music when I play both together. It sounds amazing!

The slim head works great!
These are always my go-to optical cables because of the slim heads. Some TVs and amplifiers optical housings don't fit the cables with the bigger heads, but these always fit!The only drawback to these is the wire is more fragile so when you're unplugging it, never pull from the wire! It will undoubtedly come out of the optical head. That's probably common sense but this is the only reason I can't give it 5 stars.

easy & works as expected
needed an optical splitter since my surround sound is somewhat old & only has one optical port. as long as you don't have both devices trying to send audio, this works perfectly without distortion. really great value for the price.

Utter waste of time and money, completely broken
I don't think I've ever had to leave a one-star review before, but to use a tired old phrase, "if I could leave zero stars, I would."This is probably one of the top three biggest pieces of Chinese trash I've bought. The unit itself seems like a good enough thing. It feels fine, it comes with a short but usable optical cable for the box so you don't need to go digging for a third one, and it seems like a simple enough concept. Split a one-way light beam into two.But it doesn't work. I can see the red optical light through both slots, but one one of the two works at all. One is totally dead, with no signal received, the other works but causes a continuous popping noise (how that works over optical I don't know). I swapped cables and the same thing happened for both slots. Also, if you have a "nice" toslink cable with a good thick connector, it won't fit into this. Only tiny cheap cables need apply. In short, don't buy this. It's a complete waste of time and money. It doesn't work, and I don't think it's a one-off bad unit. I think all of these have some sort of fundamental design flaw. Find another solution if you need a digital audio splitter. Maybe a S/PDIF splitter using a standard RCA-style plug thing.

Great for multiple systems
Works as advertised. I have a sound bar and a surround sound system. I use the sound bar just for viewing normal tv shows, and I use my wired surround system for movies. This enables me to have both devices connected and choose which system I want to use, works great!

Works
Used this for splitting the fibre optic signal from our LG TV to a hearing aid bluetooth device and our sound system. Works perfectly for this use.

Will not do over 48!
I got 2 of these with plans to run 8 channels of 96k adat from one room to the next. Nope... it would do 48, sketchily, often dropping out, and at 96 it simply didn't send any signal at all.... useless junk!
