High quality, low-priced temperature kettle. Just buy it.
Fantastic value for money. Easy to fill, pours very well, boils quietly, switches off silently and feels like a quality item. Temperature control works as advertised though it can't actually be set to, for example, the 93C the manual suggests for ground coffee. The only criticism I have is that the fill-level gauge is almost impossible to read since it's behind the handle and doesn't have on of those bright red floating balls that many kettles have. Since I generally measure the water in a jug for making coffee this isn't really an issue and it's a stainless steel temperature controlled kettle for twenty quid (in June 2026). Absolute bargain, highly recommended.

excellent and practical buy
This kettle is an excellent, practical buy. The digital display is a huge upgrade, making it easy to set the exact temperature you need for different drinks. Boiling speed is fast, and the Keep Warm function is a convenient feature for busy mornings. It feels sturdy with the stainless steel design, and the Strix controller provides reliable performance. A simple, efficient appliance that gets the job done without any fuss. Great value for the price.

Useful temperature control.
I bought this kettle because I like stainless steel and I wanted to try one with a temperature control function. It works as described..... It will boil a full kettle 1.7 l in around 5 mins or enough for 2 cups in about 2 mins. The temperature control is useful and I find that 95C is good enough for most things which is quicker than boiling using less energy. The only thing I don't like is the water level indicator is underneath the handle making it difficult to see when filling so hence 4 stars. It does make a noise but no more than most kettles and I like an audio feedback of a boiling kettle. I'm happy with it apart from the level indicator as mentioned.

Amazing value
I absolutely love this kettle. Temperature in 5 degree increments, easy to use and great value for money. It doesn’t leak, the lid is easy to open- one of my best buys from Amazon (and I buy a LOT!)

Temperature control kettle on a budget...
This is our first kettle with a temperature control function, and after just a few months of owning this, it's hard to imagine going back to a "normal" kettle. As an Amazon Basics Kettle, the design and build are okay, and seem about right given the price. It feels like a cheap kettle. But it is a cheap kettle, so that's okay. The temperature control works in 5 degree increments, and you simply set the temperature you want, and start it going. The keep warm function has its own button, so that's simple too. The little display shows the temperature settings as you adjust, or the temperature of the water when the kettle is on. The lid is easy to open, and although it doesn't open back as far as some kettles (barely 90 degrees), it is easy enough to fill. The spout is well designed and pours perfectly with no drips. The kettle is not super quiet, but an advantage of the temperature control (especially for making hot drinks) is that the temperature is usually going to be 75-90 degrees, so never reaches boiling point, so avoids that loud boiling instance. Another advantage of staying below boiling point is you get hardly any steam from the kettle. As for the drinks, I personally drink black coffee, so being able to set it to 85 degrees, and have a cup of coffee that is the perfect temperature right out of the kettle is great. No need to wait, or add some cold water. And no waisted energy heating the water beyond the necessary temperature. The keep warm function doesn't work indefinitely. But it is useful for having the water ready for top ups or second cups. Since the kettle is not a double wall, it would be inefficient to use the keep warm function beyond that use case anyway. The temperature control is so convenient, and probably worth the price difference when compared to budget kettles lacking this feature. And two months later, so far so good. Recommended.

Basic price, not basic kettle
Surprisingly good. Doesn't look cheap and works better than my old temperature controlled kettle. This one has a neat feature where when you set the temperature for heating or 'keep warm', it remembers the setting after you turn off. All my previous ones, you had to set the temperature each time and it always defaulted to 100C. It's not a fast boil type as it only has a 2kW element. The one thing I miss from my previous kettle is that it would beep when it was done, which was useful when it was set to stop before boiling, so you wouldn't hear it gurgling and with no mechanical switch, there's no 'click' noise either. Be careful with the outside jug temperature though, as this kettle does not have a double skin so the outside stainless steel jug will be as hot as the water inside.

small but practical kettle for hotel bedrooms or single people living alone
**Ode to the Silver Electric Kettle** O radiant orb of polished silver bright, Thou sleek electric sentinel of dawn, Whose mirrored skin drinks deep the kitchen light And throws it back in soft, celestial dawn. Above thy handle, like a watchful eye, A crystal panel glows with mystic art— It numbers every rising degree, And tells the trembling water of its heart. No blind and bellowing whistle dost thou raise, But speakest softly in thy measured tone: “Eighty-three,” for fragile jasmine days, “Ninety-five,” when bold Assam claims the throne. Thou liftest not by flame, but lightning’s grace— A hidden fire summoned at a touch— And in thy belly, water finds its place To dance in disciplined, obedient rush. Thy silver form, unblemished, cool to hold, Stands proud upon the counter like a blade Of moon-forged steel, both modern and of old, A bridge ‘twixt ancient thirst and future made. When frost lies heavy on the windowpane And weary bones cry out for warmth within, Thou answerest swift, precise, without complaint, And pours forth liquid gold, pure and serene. Hail, noble kettle, wise and silver-bright! Thou hast refined the humble act of boiling Into a ritual governed by pure light— Precision, beauty, comfort—all in one shining. Long may thy digits glow, thy element gleam, Long may thy tempered waters comfort all Who seek the perfect cup, the waking dream, In thy sleek, silver, ever-faithful thrall.
