60W Soldering Iron (METAL PEN STAND INCLUDED) Chrome Plated Steel Straight Tip Head Design - Perfect Kit for any Hobby Enthusiast - Great Addition to

Good inexpensive soldering iron.
The item arrived in a retail hanging card and is exactly as pictured. It is labeled TARVOL TAR-1038062.This is a US wall plug powered Soldering iron, AC 120V 60W and it is UL rated. It heats up in about three minutes and is ready to use. It works well for larger circuit board work such as incoming power wires but is too big for most other component work such as DIP ICs or surface mount work. The cord is 4 feet long, and polarized but not grounded (two prong) so there is no static protection provided. The stand is a simple stamped item but is works well enough for the purpose. As with all soldering irons the tip must be tinned when first used, then properly cleaned and re-tinned during use. Improper use will result in accelerated failure, this is not the fault of the iron. The tip is secured by the Phillips screw near the tip of the iron. The tip provided is about 3” long and .228” (5.8MM) in diameter. It can be reworked several times if needed. Any 60W replacement tip should work if it has the same diameter shaft. There is nothing on the retail package that indicates a lifetime warranty as the the description states. Nor can I find this information on the Tarvol website but I bought the item from Tarvol thru Amazon so I'll trust the warranty is there if I ever need it.Overall it's a nice iron with a low price tag.

Ehhhh
It was $8.. DONT expect much. It disintegrated fast. No temperature knob obviously so don’t expect accuracy. It was cheap so I lowered my expectations and wasn’t hurt. It’s fine… I’d never buy it again. It save up a little to get $30 one with the accoutrements

It gets HOT, It melts SOLDER, and that is IT.
This thing does not inspire confidence, but it's gotten me through two projects so far. I'm not an electronics guy by any stretch, but I think it's fair to say I can tell when something is made for pennies. I'm not sure that you're able to get new tips for it easily, because I haven't been able to find anything for it.It's a fine soldering iron that will last you a project or two (my tip is almost completely gone) but that is all it will do. If you've got a kit or a small repair to do, this will do that. This won't hold up for any real use by someone who needs a dependable tool.

Quick heat...that's good, but the tip, that's awful.
This iron gets hot..and quick but, lawdy, that tip is a piece of crap. Within 5 minutes of being plugged in for the first time, it burned all the chrome off the tip, and would not take a coating of solder at all. Fortunately, a can of Tip Tinner made it functional, but after soldering 2 or 3 hours, the pointy part of the tip had disintegrated leaving a giant stump useless for soldering electronics. I bought 2 high quality fine point Weller tips 0.3in (diameter) and they fit right in there. The tips are a bit short, but the iron works very well now.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MTONBL1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It Gets Very Hot-No Tempt Control
It works as it should, but it gets very hot though, and no temperature control or a rest. . Make sure to find a place to put it before you plug it in.

Old School and does it well.
I'll take this any day to the expensive trigger guns for repetitive work. It's got enough heat, is light, easy to handle and gets the job done. Just remember to unplug it.

Great, great price
Heats up fast, melts like it should for jobs needing more heat like automotive stuff. Bought 2 thinking one would give out, nope 2 years still using my first one!

Good value, not good for small components
Bought this to fix a laptop, good price but doesn’t get hot enough to be as precise as I would like to and takes awhile touching soldering material to remelt it after putting it on a board. Probably works great for projects with larger components.
