Great little pole's, great price and looks good.
I ordered the red 3.5 M and was so impressed I had to order the green 5.5 m these are great looking and size the price is cheap , the only things I found was (A) The packaging ?? come on guys I estimated 40 rods could fit in this box ? BOTH rods (bought different days) came in massive boxes why ? (B) personally I would take the end section off (its very fine) and use the next section with hollow line, WHY ? because larger 8IB up wards will snap the end. (NOT tried it yet but just my thoughts) would like to see the biggest size caught with the fine tip on.

Surprisingly strong
When you see that tiny tip makes you think that it will break just by touching it . But, to my surprise. 2 massive breams caught on it so far . Did the job so 5 stars

Not brilliant
Not brilliant, tips are very brittle. Used once and broke.

Got to be the cheapest way to try Tenkara tactics for trout
After reading some of the reviews here I did wonder what I was going to get. Furtunately, what I got was a usable tenkara rod that I've now actually used on a small river. So, good points - it works! The red fox version looks quite smart and it appears to be quite tough. I'm a tenkara newbie so I can't give a comparison more exotic rods but I can say that this turned over an 8ft furled leader with 4ft of tippet and weighted nymphs very nicely. It's not heavy to use and pick ups - either from fish or a bit of debris can be felt through the rod. It also bow and arrow casts well which opened up areas of river I couldn't get a traditional fly line into. Finally it comes with a spare top 3 kit so smashing the tip won't be a heart breaker. Bad points - umm none really given the very low asking price but when you flex the rod you can see distinct steps in the bend where the sections overlap and a Cork handle would be a nice addition from an aesthetic point of view. All in - a very cheap way to try tenkara tactics if you are thinking about it. Just add a leader, tippet and fly of choice for an enjoyable experience

Very light rod bought so I can try Tenkara style fishing
Handy size for stowing into a backpack and it comes with a spare top three sections. Seems to be good quality and it's very good value for money.

Smaller than expected
When I first extended the Roach Pole, the Tip broke...... Just as well they supply a second tip.... This was before I have even tried to fish with it....?

I purchased the Goldlite 5.4 rod to fish for carp. I didn't want to spend $300 on specialty rod. On a recent trip to my favorite carp spot I hooked a sizeable carp using a top brand fluorocarbon 6 lb tippet. Even with a healthy bend in the rod for cushion the fish just kept on going and snapped the tippet. I re-rigged and it soon happened again. I decided to put this rod to a real test. I re-tied directly to the main line which was 20 lb fluorocarbon. I hooked up again. The fight was on. I fought and landed this fish after about a fifteen minute battle. This was an exceptionally strong fish. The rod handled this abuse with absolutely no damage. I was able to collapes the sections when finished with no problem, even the tip section. I do not recommend using a line this strong but this shows the toughness of these rods. I now own three sizes of the Goldlite series of rods. These rods are true Keiryu rods. The tips are very flexible and the remainder of the rod is fast action. I did some very thorough and exacting tests listed below, which will show the actual rod weight without the plug, measured length, the Common Cents System and the Rod Flex Index test results. Goldlite 6.3, weight 230 gr, 8.1 oz, length 19 ft 8 in, CCS 45, RFT 7.5 Goldlite 5.4, weight 193 gr, 6.8 oz, length 17 ft 8 in, CCS 48, RFT 8.8 Goldlite 4.5, weight 124 gr, 4.4 oz, length 14 ft 2 in, CCS 49, RFT 11.4 I have one minor complaint. While the butt caps are very nicely machined and anodized the thread fit is too loose. To keep from losing the cap I installed o-rings betweenn the cap and the butt of the rod. When you tighten the butt plug against the o-ring you will get a secure retention that will not loosen. This complaint aside I find the workmanship to be outstanding.

Had hoped this would be a nice short Tenkara rod to add to the pack for small overgrown streams, but it broke the very first time I used it. Was a bit stiff in the action compared to my other rods and then the pole snapped during a cast in the second section from the top. And without any spare sections it is complete garbage, Get what you pay for with this rod I guess.
