I just purchased a used truck. Within days of owning it, it developed an oil leak. The entire front of the engine was COVERED in oil. It was everywhere! It was so bad I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. I spoke with a mechanic who thought because of the make and model it was more than likely power steering fluid and not oil. I bought this for that reason specifically. I hooked it up to my power steering reservoir and waited a minute or two. Nothing. Then I put it in my oil fill. Within a minute smoke started streaming out from behind my crank pulley. Thank God I knew where it was coming from. Had I just assumed it was a valve cover gasket- I might not have taken the issue as seriously as I should, and possibly blown the motor. I fixed it asap, and haven’t leaked a drop since. This little unit is worth its weight in gold! And the fact that you use baby oil, and not some expensive special fluid is a bonus. I would absolutely buy another one I I needed to.

I have been chasing a boost leak for a while and needed a smoke test confirmation. This worked perfectly finding a leak at my intercooler seal. If you have an N55 engine I would recommend removing the air filter/box and also removing the intake pipe with Maf sensor. On first startup it can spit a very small amount of oil on the maf as the balloon seal is right next to it. The other option would be to temporarily wrap something around the maf like a microfiber to protect it without actuality touching it. For giggles I tried this on a depleted battery 🔋. Symptoms: 1. Air will work on/off but the smoke will not turn on. 2. The unit will pulse on/off as well as motor rpm fluctuations up/down. 3. Unit will spit oil when using a dead battery because the motor is kicking on/off. 4. Light will not be fully illuminated or blinking.

It doesn't state it would fit an S300 but Amazon's A.I. suggested it would. It's a tight fit but the bag itself is nice so complaints. To many accessories to have laying around loose. Since it hangs in a tool cabinet I'll have to empty the oil after every use because the S300 doesn't fit it in vertically.

Nice case! Zips well, seems to be decently made. It does have a somewhat hard shell to it as well, which should provide great protection for the code reader. Tried a smaller Ancel case for the HD3500 but it was simply too small. This one is a bit on the large size but it has plenty of room for the scanner, cabling and manual.

This case is fairly decent but way overpriced for a general purpose case. This is advertised to fit the Ancel S3000 EVAP smoke machine but the EVAP machine does not fit 'comfortably' in the case. I had to cut a circular hole in the separator panel so the pressure regulator knob would fit through. On the plus side, the machine and all accessories fit if you take to time to plan the layout carefully. I don't think I would purchase this item again.

The smoke machine comes with a hook to screw in..the case doesn’t account for that so because of this you have to unscrew the hook every time you put it back in the case..not a big deal but would be nice not to have to assemble it every time
