I am so thrilled to have my hands on this book. I am a beginner homesteader and just beginning to look into things like a rainwater system but didn't know where to even start. This book is SO informative. With this book, I feel like I definitely have the knowledge to be able to implement my own system and be confident that I chose something that works well for my needs on my property. I love that she gives action items at the end of each chapter to keep you focused on your end goal and not to get lost in the information. I really like that she also includes other resources that might be helpful in certain scenarios. And a big deal to my husband was the legality of it all, which she addresses right off the bat in chapter 1! So perfect. And it's still very understandable for me even though I am a super beginner to all things rainwater. I look forward to deep-diving even more into this book and using it for reference as we decide and implement our own system. Definitely counting this as a must-have book in my personal library.

And it covers problems to be avoided, and how to do it. If you live in a rural area and you have a need or interest. This is it. If you live in another environment like a suburb or a city, this actually has you covered.

We own a farm with a large vegetable garden and animals, so water harvesting is key to the operation. This book covers a lot of information but does so in an easy to understand way and for different water harvesting scales! The author covers everything from the basic setup, local regulations (if any), differences between potable and non-potable uses and more!. The pictures and data used were most helpful as well. I would recommend this book for anyone that wants to harvest water, from a small barrel to a large tank.

This is a very helpful and practical book for anyone looking to install garden, animal or house based water harvesting systems. Although I have fundamental experience of a homemade system in the UK, this book focuses on US systems so there are some differences. However the thorough descriptions, including helpful images, of how to build different systems, are very well written. There are explanations on working out quantities of water needed, storage solutions, equations to plan from and hints and tips for different situations. There is a great set of separate glossaries and online resources to refer to as well. Overall a very helpful resource.

The book covers a lot of angles of: how, why and if... it is directed at North American readers but could be of use for anybody. I doesn't seem to cover natural filtration before the storage tank but in all a good source of information.

This book gives good information about how to collect your own water! Many techniques are well detailed. I am planning on collecting rainwater with the knowledge I have gained. There is a lot of information gather and references.
