Wonderful tea, nice and smooth, flavor is very mellow and almost buttery. One of the most comforting black teas I have ever tried. If you are familiar with the Golden Monkey style, I tried other options & brands that tasted too roasted and smoky - this brand is true to the flavor I am familiar with. Love it!

It came fresh and enjoyed the flavor. Was looking for the Teavana Golden Monkey and was very happy with this tea. Will buy again.

Great for value but like many black teas that are upper middle tier, there flavor drops quickly after the first steep. Very strong so be sure to not steep too long.The sweetness/black tea aftertaste can overpower so it's best to eat something with it. But the initial smell and taste is excellent.

I re-wrote this. Due to Darjeeling strike I thought I'd try some Black Chinese tea with Gold in it. My favorite India teas and Nepal Teas are black 2nd flush teas with gold tips. I thought taste wasn't great, but was good enough to drink or better than normal tea. I've had two types of golden monkey out of 4 I bought, and so far it seems like I just don't like golden monkey period, but this was better than the other I tried. I mostly drink iced tea. I normally put 12g of tea in my Breville tea maker basket, 1200ml water brew, and pour 800ml of water into brewed tea. This tea I initially had to brew tea twice with 1000ml of water each time to get a reasonable amount of flavor. When I poured it through strainer, it was a little scummy. I haven't seen that before except for some other golden monkey I tried.On my next to last pot, I forgot tea was done for over an hour(basket pulls out of water in 4 minutes) and the tea was strong enough. On my last pot I tried compressing leaves to get juice out and it was bitter. It may be this type tea just needs to be brewed differently, but I could tell by smell it just wasn't what I like best.

Great for Iced Tea

I have had a hard time finding a substitute for the Teavana golden monkey loose tea leaves and this is the closest I have found. It works well when you want a second cup and reuse the leaves and the flavor is rich and pleasant.

If you like black tea. You’ll like this.

The golden monkey tea flavor is not there. The tea leafs seems to be over oxidized and dried. Very disappointing.
