It's fine, a bit annoying to assemble though. You get what you pay for
As others have mentioned, this shelf is a bit unstable. Definitely listen to the weight limit. I have not broken mine so that part isn't said from experience, but it is said by someone who compared how, for a lack of a better term, strong the shelves are compared to other self assemble, specifically other particle board shelves. If you've ever bought those shelves from target, the ones at target are stronger. I would also say the shelves at walmart are stronger, and I'm sure there are stronger shelves on here, I think I've bought a sturdier shoe rack on this site. Anyway, for the price that is to be expected and if I was planning on using it for something heavy I would have spent more money. One thing to note though is that it WILL be wobbly during assembly, annoyingly wobbly, and will require an annoying amount of adjusting to keep it right before you pound the back in. The shelf above the cube shelves is only smooth one one side, but it's not noticeable. Once the backing is on the thing is more sturdy, but I still wouldn't put much weight on it, again, you get what you pay for on this one. Don't be surprised if the thing can't hold several exercise weights or something along those lines. I would be weary to display some of my rock collection to be honest, but that would probably be fine (I don't know about the bigger ones though).Anyway, tld my monster of a review, It's that: you get what you pay for. It is not sturdy without the back which is frustrating during assembly. It can hold as much weight as it says it can but I wouldn't trust any more weight than that. Also, have a screwdriver and a hammer. I don't remember what size my screwdiver is (sorry), but it's not super big or small.

You get what you pay for
I just bought this shelf about 4 weeks ago, and I already have a broken bracket! I was really exited about having my bookshelves the price is great so I didn't expect it to be good or anything super durable, but come one 4 weeks and something has broken already? For reference, I had thin kids readers on the shelf and woke up this morning to books on the floor. Another thing to consider is the cardboard backing will not stay on even after nailing it all around, it easily rips off, you can see it has fallen on the picture I posted. I would like this product more if it came with extra brackets to replace the broken rubber ones.

You get what you pay for!
This is my second Furinno bookcase. I really like the smaller one...very sturdy. This review is for the taller, 5-tier style. Very easy to put together, despite the instructions being even worse than IKEA's. If you know how to use those screw catches (I don't know the technical term for the part) you can put this together in 10 minutes after unboxing (the unboxing and organizing the parts actually took longer than the assembly). The cardboard back is quite chinzy and cheap looking, but as I saw another review state, you do need to attach it for structural support. There were a few mars in the finish of both the boards and the cardboard. But I'm using this in my basement for additional book storage, so for me looks do not matter. Probably good for a dorm room or first apartment. NOT good for a nice living room.

These are the best assembly shelves I've ever bought
Over the years, with kids, jobs, etc - I've purchased several "assembly needed shelving units" - for dorms, bedrooms, makeshift libraries - you name it. I've bought the name brand ones at the Scandinavian store, I've purchased the cheapest ones at the chain Mart stores and several shops in between. I say all of this to explain, I've seen and assembled more than my fair share of shelving units to be able to state that hands down - these are the best. For starters, the packaging alone shows they've applied some thought. There are disposable, plastic bumpers on all of the corners - you know the corners that even when you purchase a unit at a local store and bring it home yourself 9 times out of 10 there's a corner that has exposed pressed board...they've packaged their units in a way that all but prevents any cracked corners, chunks missing, etc. Score a huge win right there alone. The other thoughtful idea that I've only seen one other time (and paid extra for) is the inclusion of wall mounts to prevent the unit from falling forward. Again, huge win!The assembly is just as mind-numbing as any other unit, decent instructions, nothing really to say here. One part that was a drawback, perhaps, is that each shelf is designed to hold at most 20 pounds - they spell this out for you. I say it is perhaps a drawback, because I don't know how that compares. I've never seen another shelving unit indicate the weight per shelf, so perhaps this is the norm. I will say I've more than that weight on a few shelves and there's no apparent sagging or bowing (yet?).I have a slight complaint about the backing boards included, as that they have been over-creased - for lack of another description - in that when I unfolded one to nail it into place, it became two sheets instead of one.Last complaint is the knobs to lay the shelves into place are plastic and either slide in with far too much ease, or don't fit at all and must be tapped in with a hammer - which means hope you like the position of those shelves as they will never be re-arranged again.Overall, my two small complaints aside, these are a great value for the price and the best you'll find in any price range.

Damage to product, but still a good product
After receiving the package and opening it, we noticed a lot of damage to the ends of the shelves. The damage was not super noticeable, but still there. The instructions got really confusing from time to time. We also found some of the holes did align just right snd had to compromise. With all that being said, it is still a wonderful bookshelf and very sturdy once all put together.

Back is way to flimsy.
So this bookshelf works still even without the back but some people are probable ordering this bookshelf because it comes with a backing on the product picture. That backing is paper thin and almost bound to break mine was broken when the box got open. So if you want a bookshelf with a backing to hold your stuff in this probably isn't the product. Otherwise bookshelf still works and even looks good without it and for 30$ it's kinda a steal.

Perfect fit!
I moved into a new place which has a ton of great windows, but not so much wall space for book cases. Since I was not going to use my fireplace, I decided to find a bookcase that fit the opening. This bookshelf is the perfect size and it was very easy to assemble. Each piece was labeled and the instructions were clear. The shelves are sturdy and rather deep. I like that it has a few shelves and partitioned areas. I have assembled similar furniture and had no problem with this one, but I was tired from moving and stupidly nailed the back board on backwards, so if I moved the books out and you'd look in, instead of a white backing, you would see a brown cardboard. Thankfully the books hide my mistake, so this is just a PSA: make sure you turn it the right way!

Mostly good but ...
Does the job I needed for narrow width, shallow depth, and needed height ... BUT ... there was no provision or allowance for baseboard, had to make a 3.5" riser to set it up above the baseboard and to secure it to the wall. Inexpensive, chipboard with laminates, so it is "cheap but functional."

Easy Assembly + Super Cute!
Love this cute little bookcase! I was able to put it together in 30-40mins by myself, no power tools needed👍Pretty light before you put stuff on it, and it looks exactly like the picture. Really love how pink the shelf itself is🩷 I wouldn’t put too many books on the shelves though, the brackets are short plastic stubs and it’s pretty much made of plywood. I was able to stick tacks in the bottom of the shelves to hang my keychainsI might buy another to make a wider shelf!

I'm a woman and I figured it out
Altogether, it is worth what I paid. It was really easy to assemble, even as a woman who is not handy at all. Color is nice. What I don't like is the cheap, accordian folding back. Would have been better with a panel that isn't cardboard. I also didn't like that the paint came off when I peeled off the letter stickers. I did like the mounting bracket to attach it to the wall. Altogether I am happy.

Great for light duty
I’m using this bookshelf in my closet for storage bins. Sturdy enough for that purpose. Not sure you could load it with lots of heavy books. Was easy to assemble.

Awesome to have but a long time to fix it up
The instructions said 30 min but it was more like an hr and a half. Their were some scratches on the back and the instructions were a bit confusing towards the end. I didn’t like that I had to take one of the parts because it was tilting so just removed it and it was able to stand. I know the option they had was to mount it to the wall but I just wanted a regular shelf like my first one.

It’s alright!
Smaller than anticipated, but that’s on me for not double checking it’s measurements. I ordered the black one and received a white one. Decided on just painting it rather than going thru the hassle of returning. An easy build for normal people, hard for dyslexic dummies like myself. But that’s user error 💀😖

Good basic bookshelf
It's a basic sturdy bookshelf. Nothing fancy but does the job. I added fabric to the back of the shelves and legs to the bottom for a more custom/expensive look.
