The sponge filter clears the water great. So happy with that. Just had a problem with understanding the instructions for taking it apart ready to put in tank. They were not very clear at all, and I had to try to figure it out myself. I eventually did. Fasteners for the tube that goes through the middle of the sponge are not very strong. You need to be careful with them otherwise the sponge will not stay on the base if they break. There are only 2 of them. It takes a while for the sponge filter to sink to the bottom of the tank. The air brick supplied with my filter was the same size as the plastic tube, so I had to use a smaller one for the bubble maker to work. The tube needs to fit over the air brick. I was lucky I had an air pump with 2 outlets, as the new sponge filter used one and my air stone also needed one. It came with 2 one way filters and some plastic tube to fit to air pump. Overall I am happy with the filter doing its job. But I struggled putting it together, and I am usually quite good at that. Better instructions are needed. It took me several hours to sort out the filter and fitting it to the air pump.

I saw some other reviews, figured I’d give an accurate one.This filter is brilliant, I’ve always used air filters, never have any problems, always have clear water.The filter comes with 2 sponges, so you need to take the little cap off the top, take one off, and you’re good to go. I saw a review with the filter in the tank, both sponges on (this is why instructions come for the most simplest of designs) over all I recommend. I run 2 air filters, lots of breeding in my tank, so with a high volume of fish, water quality is important, and I never have any problems.

The filter has been working well although I am disappointed that there was no spare sponge and I cannot seem to find replacements to buy

This was an awful experience. They never tell you that you need to buy a pump, and then they don't provide a hose pipe. The price starts climbing endlessly, and worse, until you get all together, you can't use the products. Meanwhile your fish suffer. If I could, I would give zero stars.

The media could not be loaded. Nice and quiet, adjustable bubble speed, strong enough to create some movement in my small tank.However, the sponge does not retain it's shape once it's running. I assume this is something to do with the water and air flow.

This product is great the water in the tank is crystal clear so easy to clean to plus it don’t take up much room in my tank which gives more room for fish to swim

Je l'utilise, taille M, pour la grande boule zolux de 55l.J'arrive à le dissimuler derriere un décor, et seule la colonne de bulle dépasse. En effet la particularitée de ce filtre bien réalisé, c'est qu'il fonctionne non pas avec un moteur turbine, mais relié à une pompe à air adaptée à sa taille. Après son installation, où il faut presser la mousse pour en chasser l'air, pour qu'il coule, le filtre semble bien épurer le volume de 55l. J'ai remplacé les céramiques chinoises par des micromec jbl, plus performantes. Avec un joli décor et des plantes, ma grande boule est d'un bel effet, et ne me coute rien, en recharges, seulement un entretien mensuel et son changement d'eau. Livré avec une mousse de rechange, c'est un filtre inventif et économique. J'en suis très satisfait, parie gagnant pour un filtre alternatif.
