Ridiculously Fast and Quiet!
This thing is an absolute BEAST. I say that with much gravitas because I am often not impressed by external hard drives. But with a 2015 MacBook Pro, and with it attached via the USB cable, it truly is a serious drive. It is totally quiet, and the only way you know it's working is via the very bright green LED light. I was editing nearly an hour of video with this baby, and the Mac with Final Cut Pro X was humning along as if nothing was happening. There was absolutely no delay on my scrubbing through video, or with playback of 1080 HD video at 60fps. Editing pictures in Adobe Lightroom CC has been a breeze, with no lag! Download and upload speeds have been very good thus far (I'd say, over 400 MB/s each way via USB).Now keep in mind: The Mac I'm using has Thunderbolt 2 ports on it, and this thing is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 (which is a TOTALLY different connection!!!), so I can't use the Thunderbolt 2 ports with this drive. (The jury is still out with that, though, as I'm curious to see if I can find a connection that will allow me to connect this baby to my Thunderbolt 2 ports....) However, with it attached to a USB 3 port (which, by the way, it comes with the Thunderbolt 3/USB-C and USB 3.0 cords in the box), this baby has been working just fine, with no problems. As a result, I'm now using this for all my corporate work with clients, along with picture and video editing, as it is hands down the fastest drive I have owned to date. This drive is the pinnacle of what external hard drives should be, so if you're willing to "invest" in this baby, by all means do so!!!

Excellent Drive.
Excellent product, others I've tried ran hot, didn't eject easily. This drive is wicked fast and compact. It comes with multiple connecting cords too. Very happy with it so far.

Small and Fast
I have only just started using my drive but it is extremely light weight, easy to move about and position on a desktop and for my music production it has been fast and responsive.

Very Compact and Powerful!
I'm using this SSD with musical instruments (virtual) through my Laptop and a SSD is necessary. This drives runs smoothly with no problems. It's very sturdy which is important because I will travel with it.

Faulty drive, poor customer support, not as fast as advertised
I bought the Glyph Atom drive almost 2 years ago for about $400 because I wanted a fast, portable drive compatible with USB C / Thunderbolt 3.Testing the drive with Blackmagic Disk Speed Test showed speeds in the 300 range, not the 500s advertised (I've tried both a USB-C 3.1 gen 2 cable as well as a longer Thunderbolt 3 cable that I purchased separately specifically for this drive). The drive has always had issues where it periodically disconnects from the laptop, causing my laptop to want that it was removed without properly ejecting it (it wasn't!). I considered returning the drive for warranty replacement about a year ago, but was discouraged doing so by tech support because they said the issue was likely on my end (they said that if the laptop went to sleep, the drive would get disconnected, which made no sense to me, but…).Finally the drive completely stopped working a couple months ago. I could "see" it connected to my computer, but if I tried to view the contents of the drive or if I tried to format the drive, it would freeze things up on my computer. Because the drive was now totally unusable, I went ahead and sent it back under warranty—however I HAD TO PAY SHIPPING, which was frustrating. The drive was indeed found to be faulty, so they replaced the internal SSD component and sent it back to me (Glyph at least paid the return shipping). However, when I got the drive back, the rubber pads on the under side of the drive were gone. Clearly, they had been removed to access the screws and replace the SSD, but it's just super tacky to me to return a unit to a customer looking like this—with exposed screws and glue.I'm hoping that the drive will function better now that the SSD has been replaced, but I regret purchasing an expensive, seemingly high end drive that never worked as advertised. Furthermore, while customer support was nice, I didn't appreciate that the assumption was that the issue was on my end (and that they actually convinced me not to pursue warranty replacement—I should've followed my gut, but I was worried they wouldn't be able to reproduce the issue since it was intermittent for the first year and half). I'm also frustrated to have to pay shipping under warranty, and I'm unimpressed with the state in which my drive was returned to me.This was my first experience with Glyph, and I won't purchase from them again. I'll look to the bigger brand names that I actually recognize next time around.

I Love This SSD!!!
This thing transfers data at amazing speeds. A 45gb folder from the Glyph drive to my 2016 tMBP takes about 1 minute 28 seconds. I also have a 500gb Samsung T3, which is also great, but the Glyph is around 15-20% faster on most transfers. I had a little trouble figuring out how to format this for a Windows PC, but it was simpler than I was making it out to be. Great little drive! I may just order another.

Another Amazing Drive from Glyphtech
These guys SUPPORT what they sell: you get a human on the line when you need one, the drives are quality tested to the highest level not just to some statistical quota, they warranty not only the drive but the (recoverable) data - they did this for me and it was a godsend: I sent them the drive, they recovered the data, NO COST; when I did the same with TechFusion (a data recovery company on a LaCie drive, it cost me $2kto recover the recoverable). Please remember before you buy cheaper drives, quality matters, design matters, heat conduction away from the drive matters, performance matters. One drive is not equivalent to another, even if the underlying component parts come from exactly the same source and batch. One supplier does not necessarily adhere to the same design, assemby and quality standards as another.

Works great on my 2015 Mac Pro laptop.
Backed up of over 100GB in minutes. Nice and fast. I'll buy another for my HP laptop next time.
