Bites For Bearded Dragons, Soft Moist Food, 24-Ounce

I just recently added these to my Bearded Dragons diet, probably 6 months ago. He's old and I was looking for something that he would enjoy as a snack. I worry about his water intake, so I like that these are moist bites. It smells nice, lightly fruity. It does dry up, requiring daily changing out. I'm not sure how nutritionally sound they are, so I offer them along with a dry puff and bug mixture daily. These are by far his favorite, he starts eating almost as soon as I put the dish down. We've had our Beardie for 8 years and had never offered anything similar in the past, so I'd imagine most would at least give it a taste as opposed to ignoring it.

When I had a bearded dragon, she ate this stuff up the moment I put it into her tank. Unfortunately I do not have that same bearded dragon any longer and still had close to half of a container left behind. I didn't want to just throw it away so I decided to feed it to some of my insects (Cave roaches and Madagascar Hissing roaches ) and they also love this stuff! When I purchase feeder crickets for my tarantulas, I give them some of the stuff as part of gut loading and they also seem to enjoy it. It may seem unusual to buy this stuff specifically for insects, but if they enjoy it and seem to benefit from eating it, it's worth the occasional purchase -- a jar this size will last for MONTHS (6+)!

I use these to make my bearded dragon's greens more exciting. No matter what other toppings are in her salad, there's always her greens and a garnish of these bites. She loves them, so even if she's having a picky day she may accidentally get a leaf in her mouth while eating these. They are brightly colored, and I think that really contributes. Plus, she seems to love the flavor. I've been giving her a small amount with the rest of her food daily since I got her (as a baby) so she just expects them now and won't eat her salad without them. I've bought a few different sizes, but it doesn't really matter since I store it all in the fridge and break out a few weeks' worth at a time.I only have one bearded dragon, so this lasts us a surprisingly long time (2-3 months, I'd say).

I love my dragon, whose name is Wrex, but he is a challenging pet. It is a constant struggle to keep him fed - crickets are expensive, roach colonies have been a lot of work, and supers are not very nutritious. He likes most vegetables, but I always worry he's not getting enough nutrition. I've tried about every pre-packaged food I have ever found, and he's carefully eaten around every one. I'm going out of the country soon, and my parents are going to watch Wrex. I was worried about them being massively inconvenienced by his massively complicated diet.So because I was desperate, I threw these in my Amazon cart, hoping he would take to them, but not really thinking he would. They came today, and I threw some in his dish. As soon as they landed, he looked up and made his way over. After a few seconds of critical staring, he tried one, and apparently loved it since he ate all of the rest and looked back at me like it was my fault they were gone.They smell great, the texture is wonderful, and the container is way bigger than I expected. I'll be sending them along with him to my parents, and when they run out, I'll be ordering some more. Great buy. I'm delighted.

Sometimes I'm pretty sure I have the world's pickiest bearded dragon. Flint was a rescue, apparently used to eating a cricket-only diet. He refuses most veggies I offer him, and I worry he isn't getting enough nutrients. I decided to try these "Bites" on a whim. At first, Flint just looked at them suspiciously. My husband and I got him out of the cage and gently force-fed him a couple "Bites" so he would realize they were food. Then we put him back in the cage with a dish full of "Bites." To my surprise, Flint completely cleaned up the dish.I like that these Bites contain plenty of moisture, unlike many pelleted bearded dragon diets we have tried. Flint gets weekly soaks in the tub, but it is nice to know that the Bites are helping him stay hydrated too.The only reason I am giving the product four stars instead of five is for the lack of nutritional information. The guaranteed analysis only includes Crude Protein, Crude Fat, Crude Fiber, and Moisture. The claim of "Balanced Nutrition" on the front of the container just isn't adequately supported in my opinion, although this is a common problem with exotic animal diets. It would be nice if it included percentages of specific nutrients that beardies need, such as calcium. Flint had metabolic bone disease when we adopted him, so to be on the safe side I am still sprinkling these Bites with calcium powder.Overall, I am satisfied with my experience with this product so far. Finally, we have found something palatable enough that Flint will eat it! I am still hoping we can gradually convert him to salads, since beardies do best with plenty of variety in their diets, and I would prefer not to rely on one product alone for his lifelong nutrition. But I would not hesitate to recommend this product as a nutritious dietary supplement / appetite stimulant.

I have been using this product since 2012 with my first bearded dragon. As with all foods, nothing has complete nutrition so supplementing with fresh greens and superworms is the best regimen. My dragons would not eat fresh food so their diets consisted of these bites and superworms. These bites produced large, good looking, happy dragons (compliments from others). The bites are easy to keep fresh in your refrigerator and reasonably priced, in my opinion, for the benefits.

I love this stuff. I have been adding it to my bearded dragons food ever since he was a little hatchling. He's not 8 years old and 22 inches. He always eats this stuff willingly and it gives him great added nutrition and if i'm in a hurry and can just fill his bowl with this stuff and he'll eat it up and i'll know he got the proper nutrition for the day. Great stuff.

My beardy loves these, would always go crazy when he saw me grabbing this container. Great on its own or thrown into their salads!

This is the only commercial food Zelda will eat on a regular basis. She loves the taste and seeks it in amongst her veggies.

I 100% NOT recommend this food for bearded dragons. My dragons hate it and dont touch it.
