How to build a model ship
I seriously spent money on this???? Don't get me wrong, I am sure that given what the DVD is, it is a great help to those that ... need (???) it.Here is the problem. I bought this DVD assuming (yes, I am aware of what happens when one assumes) that it at the very least showed a guy making a backsaw from start to finish, at the very least. Well I was wrong, there was less he could do. This is an instruction manual for a saw kit that is sold by Bontz Saw Works. I am not sure if this Matt Cianci is the owner, getting kick backs, or just got paid to make an instructional DVD for their kits, but that is all this DVD is. Sure, it shows you how to make a handle and gives you designs you can print out, but how about something telling us what type of steel to use for the blade (1095 by the way), or how about what thickness of steel (0.015-0.030 usually), or maybe something about the back, does it have to be brass? could it be bronze? copper? Can I make the back out of a chocolate chip cookie?Nope. Go to YouTube and save yourself some money and actually learn how to make your own back saw.

If you've ever thought about making a back saw this DVD could help you!
I've built several saws and actually bought this video for my son in law. He didn't really think he'd ever use it so I watched it and have to say that this is a nice step by step video for anyone interested in either building their own saw or who are just plain interested in learning how a back saw is actually made.I think it's about an hour and a half long and every single minute is focused on making a saw from start to finish. I'ts not a big fancy production like many tool or woodworking videos these days but it gets right down in the trenches and shows you, tells you and shows you again how to complete every step of making a back saw!Good Stuff!

Good information on how to shape a handle. I like that the dvd has templates included.

Building a Custom Backsaw ...
Missing information on the most important part for the construction of the saws: ie the metal to the blade and brass for the back. Where to find the steel blue? where to find the brass rods? how to perform the cutting brass rods? Or how to fold the brass? In short, the DVD finally comes to how to make the handle. The DVD also fails to address properly the part relating to the creation and sharpening teeth.Product not recommended.
