A great buy for your dancer friend!!!!
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a speaker as a gift for my friend who is a dancer and this product is a steal for me! First of all, this portable wireless speaker has a unique design! It has a leather-liked handle with a canvas-liked body. It also has a metal finish on top with a control for volume and different keys. Second, the sound is LOUD and CLEAR with a strong bass. Its connection to the phone via Bluetooth was very stable. It seems very well-made but only time will tell.Overall, this is a GREAT buy if you are looking for a not-cheap but not-expensive gift to give to your dancer friend. Please press the Helpful button under this review so I know someone reads it.When I shop on Amazon I rely heavily on other people’s honest reviews to help me make the right choice on what to buy and what not to buy. So, in turn, I always make sure to leave my HONEST opinions on products that I review. It is my motto that I try to give as much detail as I can right after I experience the product. If you have any questions for me on something I failed to mention, please ask and I will respond quickly. Please be assured the product has earned the rating I have given.Have a nice day!

Lovely and well made
I went in different directions before placing the order for the Purebox blootooth speakers. What I really wanted was an internet radio that allows me to access broadcasts from all around the world without being dependent on an app, and with functionality that allows you to browse using the unit's display as opposed to reliance on a smart phone for example. The closest offer to what I was looking for was the Sangean WFR-28. It is an independant unit that accesses with old-fashioned controls (and for free) thousands of broadcasts. However it doesn't access podcasts and seems to be based on a database maintained by a private company. My concern was: what happens if this private website disapprears, does the radio then turn dead too? Also, the autonomy on batteries is very limited (about 4 hours), which means if you are recharging the unit using a battery charger, it may take longer to recharge than it will take for a continuous use of the radio to drain the batteries. Essentially, you need several sets of batteries, which is inconvenient. I still like the Sangean though, because it gives you free, easy access to broadcasts and allows you to search using the unit's display. But I wish Sangean would at least improve on the autonomy and the acces to podcasts on a newer model. My second option was the Sonicgrace Wi-Fi radio, a very beautiful unit with great reviews on its sound depth. But as I digged deeper into the specs, I came to realize that this model only really works if you purchase an app - somehting I have a real problem doing, since the broadcasts I am interested in are offered for free on the Internet. So I progressively got attracted to the Purebox, for its 50s inspired looks and favorable reviews, as well as my realization that if I was not going to find exactly what I was looking for, a bluetooth speaker basically offered the access to both news and podcasts that I wanted, only with the inconvenience of needing another device to transmit to the speaker as opposed to a stand-alone product. The sound is very warm, especially for spoken programs, which represent the majority of what I use it for. Autonomy is good at about 8 hours. The phone button is very convenient, I can charge my phone in my office and bring the speaker along around the house and still be able to answer my incoming calls. One feature that is not reviewed prominently but that I really appreciate is the microSD card capability. This allows me to load (a lot of) old podcasts into the unit itself, so when I run out of programs I am interested in via iPhone, I can immediately switch to saved podcasts. Listening to old podcasts using this old-fashioned looking speaker has a great feel-good quality. The only drawback to the SD card is that if you turn the unit off, the unit doesn't save the spot you where at when you turned it off, so you have to listen from the begining again (only an issue if it is a long podcast for example). But I am just happy the fuctionality is there.Terrific product all in all, this is one of the best Amazon purchases I have made in years. From being relucant at first to purchase a speaker, I now use this beautiful unit at least two or three hours every day, and it is always a pleasure to turn it on.

Clear sound
While this is one of the bigger wireless bluetooth speakers I own, it does pack some good loud sound. I like that the device has an actual on/off switch as sometimes I am unsure if I have turned off one of my speakers. The volume knob is great to adjust the sound level and turning the knob is much more fun than pushing a button. The replay and skip track buttons work with many of the music apps that I use with my phone such as Spotify, the music app, and Pandora. The speaker itself has a cloth feel to it on the body. The leather like handle is nice except for the fact that it has a squeaky sound when you move the handle, which is not a pleasant sound (not sure if this is just mine or if this happens to other people also). The sound quality is pretty good and the speaker offers clear sound and at high volume does not distort the sound much. It fills a medium sized room well.

The Good: It is an attractive speaker
The Good : It is an attractive speaker, that is loud enough for my space and It's battery lasts a long time. The Bad: My two main complaints with this speaker is there is no auto shut off function and the charging cord is absurdly short. It also doesn't come with a wall adapter. In addition to the cord It also takes forever to charge and if it died due to lack of battery it takes at least an hour of charging to turn back on. The interface is also kind of annoying.overall: I wouldn't recommend people buy this item. However, I am going to keep this product. It was a gift and for the price it didn't seem worth the hassle to return.

Happy
This is such a nice little speaker. It's compact and easy to carry around, the price is right, and it sounds great for the size. Also easy to use and I love the rotary volume knob. The best part, though, is that it is stylish and looks much more expensive than it is. Whoever designed this is a genious. You no longer need to hide your portable BT speaker in the drawer when not in use; it looks great sitting on a table or shelf.

Worked twice, but never again
Really wanted to love this but it only worked twice and now it won’t work again. I’m big at following exact instructions and I don’t give up easy, but after many hours of trying to get this to work again I have had no luck. The two days it was working the battery life was only 3 hours after being fully charged and I had the volume fairly low. I will be returning this today.

Sounds Great, Average Battery Life
This speaker sounds great, and has a really nice range! The only problem I have is the battery doesn't hold a charge as long as I expected. It's likely that the bigger speakers use more power, but I still think this could use a bigger battery. Not that it matters much, since this is discontinued.
