Vigorous Mountains Dried Assorted Mushroom Granules - Very Convenient, Very Tasty!
This product is marvelous! So convenient and tasty too. We love fresh mushrooms and I always have the best of intentions but frequent they start to ‘turn’ before I use them. I made a pot roast the other day during the very cold, windy, snowy weather here in upstate NY during the holidays. Used the instant pot and added the soaked mushrooms when I sautéed the onion and browned the tomato paste. Gosh it smell great! I used the mushroom soaking liquid in lieu of beef stock. Vigorous Mountains mushrooms cooked nicely, were not rubbery and the pot roast smelled heavenly. The mushrooms definitely added flavor and aroma. We had pot roast for 2 days then I made a pot pie with the remainder. I was so tired from the holidays having mushrooms ready to go was great, especially since the weather precluded going to the store. Really convenient. Added this product to my Subscribe and Save list since I also use them for our homemade ramen. Lovely product.

Good taste small package
Decent, but packages are too small for the price, but competitive still. Taste is good and they go with lots of things.

Tasty, convenient, more like bits and slices
The VIGOROUS MOUNTAINS bag contains quite a decent amount of tasty mushrooms, perfect when I don't have fresh mushrooms (that go bad so quick) in my fridge. Honestly, I can barely tell what types of mushrooms are in the mix, once cooked the pieces all taste the same. The "granules" are more like a mix of bits and slices, the size is very non-uniform, so if you like perfection you won't get it with this mix. I guess most of the small slices are champignons... as I mention, I can barely distinguish the bits that are shiitake, porcini or oyster... and I know my mushroom. But does it matter to me? No, because they are delicious as much as convenient mushrooms can get. I love mixing them with grains as they finish cooking (rice, couscous, bulgur, farro, quinoa, etc.), adding them to pasta dishes, stews or baked casseroles. I simply add them too cooking, I'm not that iffy about soaking them separately, filtering out small particles, dust or whatever. I might have eaten some extra dirt, but most likely cooking killed any bad stuff; didn't feel anything sandy between my teeth. But don't follow my example if you are squeamish. I liked the resealable bag, the zipper worked perfect until the very end. Bonus points for the bag being recyclable. They're dried mushrooms that were shipped through Amazon, going through who knows what during transportation; off course there is some dusting at the bottom of the bag. Find a (delicious) use for it. Two desiccant packs are a little over the top... it's a bag under 4oz. But I guess the brand prefers to be extra careful.

Great Product!
Love these! They’re very flavorful and super easy to use. I always keep a bag on hand (this is my fourth purchase). I find they work in so many different recipes.

Great for soup
These are good in miso soup or added to ramen. They look like only a small amount, but they absorb water or stock to become much larger. Good taste and texture.

Well worth it, if you like a bit extra umami in your meal.
I've been using them for a while now with my rice dishes and other cooking. I keep forgetting to do as the packaging says and use the soak-water towards the meal and get more value from the whole thing. If I remember tonight, that's what's going in the rice cooker and or with whichever meat/fish I'm making. I'll be buying more, assuming I don't die or otherwise cannot. Well worth it!

Gotta say they're tasty
Boil them up in a small amount of water and oil about 10 minutes to soften them up then mix them in rice and good to go. They are expensive but I cannot get decent mushrooms at the grocery store, this probably would average out to near the same price
