Good product

This is OK but not anything like the quality I was hoping for.I bought this to mount on my 6" x 1/2" arbor bench grinder. I am using it to polish the caps on some stainless, button-cap screws. So far it has worked well when combined with green stainless steel compound.There are 2 problems with this wheel;First, the outer stitching starting to come lose after about 10 min of use. To stop this I applied some super glue to the loose orange threads. This seems to have stopped the problem for now.Second, the 2 adapter plates for a 1/2" arbor didn't fit, they were bad stamped aluminum pieces and wouldn't even get over the threads without being reamed and then wouldn't fit the shaft. Fortunately I have a set of spacers from another wheel that I could use for this wheel.I paid more for this wheel because it is made in the USA. I think it's sad that an American Manufacturer would produce something like this when there is so much pressure from Asia. I doubt that this will last near as long as the polishing wheels I have that came from China.I won't buy another one.

I ordered the wrong size for my Ryobi 6" but with a couple washers it fits fine. I was buffing my Spyderco Endura - looking good in spite of 0.5" wheel width but then was distracted for a moment - bam! the Endura edge cut past the 1st sewn line - all digits intact, Endura suffered 1mm bent edge. Went to depothome got Ryobi buffing combo pack - 3 buffing wheel rough,mid,fine 6"x1" for twenty bux. Ryobi wheel sewn lines are concentric but seem to work fine.

Does a really nice job. Turn on the machine and put a little buffing compound on it and you're good to go. I had some knives I sharpened on a sanding belt. After that, I treated the edge with the buffer and it came out beautiful and a little sharper because it took of the tiny curled edges you can get from the sander.

Many years ago I put two of these wheels on an electric grinder, turning it into a buffer. I took off the grinder guards so I could easily access the sides of the buffing wheels as well as the face. I've used this type of buffing wheels for many years. From steel to brass to copper they all buff beautifully. I let one wheel stay fairly rough and dirty for course stuff and the other for cleaner or more valuable materials.

The quality of the buffing wheel is just fine and it does a good job buffing my stainless steel exhaust tips I had scratched. I was not happy with the fact the centers were not set into the wheels, though, as they came in two pieces and were not the inside diameter that matches my grinder shafts. I would not get these again because of that, although they did accomplish what I needed to do. I have purchased other buffing wheels from Amazon.com that had the centers integrated and were of the proper shaft size.

It started to separate after only a few rotations. I was using it bare with no polishing compound though. Didn't quite stay concentric with the motor shaft so it wobbles a little bit.

This buffing wheel has a good finish for the rubbing compound and is reasonably good on the polishing I tried on it. For me, it was too narrow at about 5/8" X 6" and the center-hole was not 1/2". I had to make my own bushings to get it to fit my 1/2" arbor. I have ordered two other wheels from other vendors hoping to get a wheel that is wide enough for my application.
