Samantha Mini Doll (American Girl) Misc. Supplies – Abridged, August 30, 2013

It is true American Girl product, real, authentic and so you get what you expect.The doll was purchased as a gift for my child who owns few full size AG dolls and she owns all the little American Girl dolls that were released so far so this was a natural addition. Over the years we bought some of them, and friends and family obliged with others.Overall this is really fabulous doll to own. We paired it with some Samantha books and our child also own some furniture pieces and other accessories from Samantha collection. I really liked the focus on education, with the beautiful old fashion desk and the lunch box and food stuff etc, because thatsomehow brings the bygone era magic into the child's life and inspire them to learn more about historythat is inductive to all learning.VERY HAPPY with the purchase!

My daughter wanted an American Girl doll for her 9th birthday, but I couldn't swallow the sticker shock of a full sized doll, so instead I got her a few of her favorites in mini version. She was delighted, and I'm happy with the purchase. The dolls and clothes are well made, and the arms and legs move nicely, in much more natural ways than most fashion doll limbs. Samantha is a favorite character of my daughter's, and has always been my favorite as well. I can't give this doll 5 stars because of her hair. It seems to be too long or too wavy. Mine may be at an added disadvantage because it was flipped up under the doll's body in the box, so Samantha arrived with a serious case of bed head, however I combed her hair and arranged it carefully in the box 2 weeks before my daughter's birthday, so she looked neat when my daughter opened her, but every time she's taken out of the box and played with, her hair turns into an unruly cloud. I wish they'd given her shorter hair, maybe more like the Ruthie mini doll. As others have commented, the mini books are tiny, more of a novelty for a child who's already read the book than a book to read cover to cover, but it works for us.

My daughter hasn't seen it yet-it's for her stocking come Christmas. However, I love the doll. It is smaller than I thought it would be, I suppose I should have got the ruler out to see 6.5"! However, it is cute and detailed. I hope this satisfies my daughter's dream of an AG doll for the time being, and if she truly plays with her dolls then perhaps the real doll can be purchased (I fear she wants it out of peer pressure and not desire to play).If you daughter loves mini toys (such as Pet Shops, Polly Pockets) she will love this doll. I can already see my Little Miss playing with Samantha and all her other little toys. Will be ordering more mini AG dolls.My only complaint was packaging was in a padded envelope, that was left outside my door step in a Utah snow storm. Just happy it wasn't buried in a snow bank until spring!

These dolls are darling and my granddaughter absolutely LOVES them - because they're affordable, she can have them all - the cost of doing this with the 18" dolls would be prohibitive and where would you store them all? Anyway, she has both the 18" and the mini of 'her' doll and now the minis of all the others - fabulous play! My only negative is that the eyes do not open and shut - which is why I gave it a 4, but that's certainly no reason not to get them. You can buy clothing for the mini dolls as well and I fully recommend getting the display case that stands 12 mini dolls.

I bought this as a sentimental gift for my girlfriend. growing up she always wanted Samantha but never got an American girl doll I guess. she opened this up on Christmas morning and started crying bc she was so touched by the thought of me remembering that story and getting this for her. definitely got me brownie points! but I like the small size bc shes 27 and doesn't want a full size doll, the thought was definitely all that mattered. she was very moved and touched. shes never shed tears for a gift before, (not even for the diamond earrings I got her! lol) perfect size to be a collector gift

I always wanted to buy these dolls on the American Girl site - but the price was always just a bit high. I ended up ordering all of the American Girl Mini dolls - at this price ($14.99 and Prime free shipping!) I could!All the dolls are so well made. I measured them against the larger AG dolls and they were just about perfectly 36% smaller! This is a great way to be able to collect all the Historical AG dolls - and be able to display them without filling your whole house and breaking your wallet!)

The doll is adorable my almost 7 year old daughter just loves it . Amazed on how much she looks like the big AG doll .She loves the fact that it fits in her doll house. love the little hard cover book but very hard to read writing is much to small.I would have given it a five but they don't make any clothes for the doll.

I am a huge American girl fan and Samantha is one of my favorites. I always wanted a Samantha dollbut the 18 inch version was beyond my means. This 6 inch version was very affordable and is really beautiful. It came with a mini version of her first book. I absolutely love this doll!
