Have an Ember mug already so decided to get a cup as well. Love it, slightly smaller and without a handle but ideal for a slightly smaller drink. Can be used on existing charging coaster as well.

Now, like I, you might have felt that something like this were expensive for what it is. Yes, it isn't cheap for sure. But, its not a gimmick either! This is a fantastic product, and perfect for those who wfh at a desk in winter, especially in the cooler months. This keeps drinks piping hot and has good battery life too.

I read a few good reviews of this product and thought I'd give it a go. I've been very impressed! I often work at home and don't get to drink a coffee right away. This means I don't have to put up with cold coffee any more. Compared to microwaving a cold coffee, this is way better. I set the cup to 52.5°C and the flavour remain (unlike when I microwave cold coffee). Absolute game changer.

I've known about the Ember mugs for a long time, it's something that fits in with my busy and always-forgetting-to-sip-my-morning-brew lifestyle. As such, the Ember cup and travel mugs are made with someone like me in mind. I see the need for it, but there are a few points which could be improved for my personal use: • I found 177ml too small a quantity. It's about the size of a traditional teacup. Not enough for me, I therefore have to make a second cup. • The cup holds a 1.5 hours of charge so, if im quick enough with my first brew, I can still enjoy a warm additional brew. But in actuality, 90 minutes is a bit short. Of course, with milk products heated below 60 degrees there is a chance of harbouring food bourne fauna and this may be why they've restricted the battery to a limited power capability. • The saucer is NOT a standalone charger. It does need to be connected to a power source. So I can't really take this to the office easily to use as an on-the-go cup. • I have noticed that sometimes the auto detection fails to recognise the drink has been consumed in its entirety and will continue to heat the cup up. This in my opinion is risky if i'm not nearby enough to notice. Lifting the cup normally fixes this error. • The lead is not universal, so I can't just use any old USB lead. I do have to use the original lead. • The saucer is not really a useable saucer. It MUST be kept dry at all times as it has a live and exposed electrical connector to the upper surface which connects to the cup. Here's what I did like: • I like the absence of a handle, it's chic, stylish and modern. I can see how that wouldn't appeal to everyone. • The app is well designed, quick and easy to use, with a large clear dial to select manual temperature if you don't wish to use their presets. • I drink sencha and sincha as well as the usual teas which are green teas I order from Japan and arrive sealed in nitrogen gas to ensure flavour stays incredibly fresh - I mention this as it shows how specific I am about the quality of my hot drinks. The Ember allows me to set the perfect preset so that my delicate green leaves - which all have differing optimum steeping temperatures, pleasantly brewed as if I had handpicked them myself fresh from the field. • Coffees beans go bitter and ashy if overbrewed. But I am able to set the temperature low enough to ensure it remains sweet and aromatic. Would I recommend it? I love it! Granted, its not for everyone, it has limited capability in terms of short timeframe, the cup is modernistic and lacking handle and the app, is needed in order to have total functionality. Without which, there is no option to alter anything except leaving it at the factory preset. A little note: To connect the cup to your bluetooth requires pressing the button on the base of the cup. This button must be pressed hard. I was stunted for a while wondering why my cup wasn't connecting as described. I hope you found this useful.

I have a bean to cup machine which produces a hot coffee however it cools off when I put milk from the fridge in it. No I don’t always have a chance to froth it. The cup brings it back up to a good temperature within a couple of minutes. Ideal when trying to also deal with getting the child’s breakfast done at the same time. Well built and easy to clean.

Bought as a gift for a teacher, they loved it! Very easy to use, keeps drinks warm, a little pricey but the brand is reliable (I have tried cheaper ones before) easy to plug and play.

This is a great product, and this is actually the second time I’ve tried to give it a chance. However, there are a few issues that prevent me from keeping this cup. I’m referring specifically to the 178 ml cup. I prefer a 150 ml coffee serving, which seems perfect, but here’s where the main drawback lies. My coffee machine makes coffee at just over 75°C, while the maximum temperature the cup maintains is 62.5°C. With this volume, I end up drinking the coffee before the warming feature even has a chance to kick in and make a difference. Perhaps if you use the 414 ml Smart Mug 2 for tea, for example, and drink it slowly, the heating function might come into play. In conclusion, this is a very good product, but it’s not ideal for those who prefer their beverages to stay hot. Unfortunately, I’ll have to return it again.

Ember cups are a fantastic concept and incredibly useful, but I’ve encountered some challenges with the company's aftercare service. It's frustrating that I've had to rely on Amazon for repeated replacements of my cups. For users who utilize them often, it can become a hassle to request repairs or full replacements regularly. It’s disappointing, especially considering the investment. I hope the company can improve their customer support to match the quality of their product!

Finalmente un prodotto che fa quel che promette. Dopo aver provato diversi “scaldatazze” che non riescono a mantenere il calore questo fa il suo dovere. Si può scegliere a quale temperatura mantenere il liquido attraverso una app sul telefono. Forse un po’ macchinoso per un over 50 ma ce la si può fare 😅 Unica pecca il prezzo di vendita molto alto.

It was great for almost exactly a year - then it started to fail maintaining heat. Will have to buy another - at full price of course.
