Works Great
We were receiving several robo and unsolicited calls daily, even though we are on the Federal and State"no call list". I purchased this call blocker to stop these, it is simple to hook-up, and very simple touse. It does just as advertised, it stops those unwanted calls, just bring up the number on the device, andblock them. Our phone will light up when the unwanted calls come, but it does not ring. I wish I wouldhave purchased this a long time ago. Very happy with it.

Works as described
The installation problems were caused by the instructions for this product being written by a non native American English speaker, and by the reviews for this particular call blocker also including the reviews for several other call blockers manufactured by this company. But by being patient, combing through all reviews and directions, I managed to set it up for our particular land line situation - one 20 year old AT&T phone with answering machine upstairs, and one 30 year old Bell South phone with call blocker downstairs. The peace and quiet is so great. We now get only the calls we want to receive, and it works perfectly calling out.I should add that after a week of use, I realized that I was not seeing the list of numbers that I had blocked, and that I was unable to delete a number from the regular call log with two light taps on the delete button. I had to push the delete button really hard for a long time. Unplugging all of the cords, and then plugging them in again solved the problem, and I think that it now works perfectly.

It is quite easy to install but mine did not work!
The cost was $60. I figured that would be cheap if I could get the junk calls blocked. I did manage to block two unwanted callers and my own cell phone by mistake. This item simply did not do much of anything that it was supposed to do. The instructions are in English, kind of. The grammar and sentence form was poor, so it was likely translated from another language. Maybe something was lost in the translation. I really did have high hopes but it simply wouldn't work. Also this the second 'call blocker' that I bought. The first from another company. It didn't work any better.

Fulfills core purpose but not great usability
Blocks blacklisted numbers, which is reducing annoyances every day. Interface is a bit awkward to navigate (e.g. can be difficult to tell whether you are reviewing "blocked list" and "call history"); lack of back-lighting makes screen difficult to read in low light; caller id info does not propagate correctly with my at&t wireless phone set (flashes up but then disappears; seems to be an interaction problem not a core issue); blocking via * from handsets does not work with my at&t phone (have to go to unit and press the "block" button).

Easy to set up , difficult to keep numbers unblocked
really disappointed in this product. Works fine for about a week then start blocking all incoming calls. Returned first machine and was sent another one and same thing happened. We unblock the numbers and not long after they are blocked again. Definitely don’t buy this one. Look for a higher end machine, so that your family doesn’t have to drive to your home to check on you because they can’t get through on the phone. Happened to us.

A few added instructions and things that have helped me.
I just received my CT-CID 801 a wk. ago. The one instruction in the little pamphlet that is incomplete is the instruction of how to add numbers to the black list when they are not an incoming call. You need to push "speaker button" first and THEN follow the rest of instructions. This was an important step for me because I already have about 100 blocked calls on the 2 phone systems in the house and Call Blocker cannot recognize any of those. Blocking a # that is incoming is very easy if you are right at Call Blocker and push the red BLOCK button and hold until it says "save". If you are near a hand set, press ** twice. IF you answered the phone, press * and hold it. You will have more options if you bought the more expensive model. Important to keep your call log emptied out so it is not difficult to block incoming calls that came in when you weren't there. You don't want to look thru 10 calls and try to figure out which ones are ones you would NOT block and which are the ones you want to block. I empty the call log every time I am done blocking any calls. You can always check your hand set CID to make sure you don't BLOCK a # you don't want to block. So keep your hand set CID log emptied out, too. I'm 81 so works best to keep it simple. This model does not have the programmed calls that are most frequent. So far I haven't figured out what it considers "no CID" as all calls are coming thru that are "unknown", a phone # as the ID", and anything else that precedes the Phone # they are calling from. Sometimes the # they are calling from is also the "CID"?? Beats me!! I know I am going to like getting rid of a LOT of these annoying phone calls and especially the ones who call repeatedly. Mia has been very helpful in answering my questions on email. Joanne Donovan Plano, TX 06/01/2018 After reading some other reviews, I have a suggestion that might help some of you re: caller ID. We have AT&T phones and besides the CID option on the hand set, there is a Directory option. It has a limit of 50---but I have it FULL with names and #'s of family, my Drs., friends, and some businesses that I have frequent contact with. Any of their phone calls coming in to our home appear by name and phone # on the hand set and on the TV. Mcheeta does NOT interfere in any way with this. It's also very handy for me as these days, no one knows anyone's phone # and when I want to call anyone in the directory, I just press the key that has the first letter of their name (and you may have to scroll since there are multiple letters on the # keys) and when their name and # comes up I press talk and it calls them. Makes things very convenient. Refer to your owners guide to see if you have this option on your phone. It's a lifesaver. This also makes it much easier to "Block" calls that came in when you weren't home since only the # appears on your Call Blocker but you would have the name AND the # in your hand set CID and could easily filter the #'s you want to block and those you do NOT want to block. If you accidentally block a # you don't want blocked, just press the Block button to bring up your Blocked list, scroll up or down till you find the #, and then press delete button twice and it will be gone from your blocked list. Hope this is helpful to some of you. It's a learning process.
