I used to go to my neighborhood chain store, which sold it by the slice, to satisfy my Rainbow Cake fix, but one day it was gone. I searched everywhere with no luck finding it sold as a slice. Searched on Amazon and all I could find was whole cake. I really didn't want a whole cake, just a slice every now and then, whenever I had a craving. Anyway, after much consternation, I decided to pull the trigger, hoping that freezing it would help it last, and Boy am I glad, I did. This cake is Awesome!! The Packaging was great and once thawed out, it was moist and tasted soooo good. After my first slice, I put the rest in my freezer. On any particular day when I was craving, I would microwave a slice for 35 seconds and it still tasted sooo Yum. Living by myself, the cake lasted 4 weeks in my freezer until it was gone. 4th week, the last 2 slices I ate were a little stale, but it still tasted good, so maybe 3 weeks max for storage in freezer.

Ordered this red velvet cake as it's my favorite, really had my fingers crossed it would make it intact. I was extremely pleased with the care they took with packaging. Box was a cooler and packed with dry ice. Cake arrived perfectly all the way to interior Alaska via bush plane. So kudos to David cookie for doing such a great job. Just ordered again.

The cake looks exactly as pictured, it is huge! It’s delicious but a bit too sweet for even extreme sugar lovers as myself & my kids. Easy fix though, after serving a slice we just took off a portion of the top frosting & it balanced out well. I wouldn’t suggest making the cake smaller but I would suggest making the slices thinner. The average child can’t eat that entire slice, even as an adult it was hard for me to finish a huge slice. What I did was cover the slice with foil on a plate & return to it later. Minor things that wouldn't deter me from ordering again. My daughter isn’t a cake person but she loved it because of the edible cookie dough & tie dye colors inside the cake. She said it was so yummy plus unique decor, purple frosting, sprinkles etc. When ordering this cake please order it as close to the date as possible. Ours arrived 24hrs later / 3 days ahead of schedule & I had nowhere to store it since my freezer & fridge were full. I took a chance & left it in the original packaging, sat the packaging on my tile floor, it held up & stayed cold until 3 days later. It’s still cold here at night so that was very helpful, I wouldn’t recommend trying this in the summer. I didn’t expect it to arrive so soon but now I know for next time. Will definitely be ordering more cakes from here, overall delicious and better priced than their online site. We got an amazing treat at a great price! It made her birthday very special & unique 💜

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Yesterday was my son's Birthday.. & I got him Carrot Cake Because He Loves Carrot Cake & Says it's his Favorite.. However Even though this arrived in a Cooler, It arrived with NO ICE.. & I Immediately Put it in the Freezer to Chill.. His Birthday Being 2 days after I Received It, However...... We Got Everything Prepared, & Celebrated His Day, & at 4:30pm we served presliced Cake .. My Son was upset, because he said MOM, IT TASTE LIKE PLASTIC.. Then the Guest started putting their plates down , With only a single bite taken on most , or less than 1/2 of the piece eaten on a few of them.. We had about 12 people.. mostly adults.. & 3 children... 2 of the Children are all of their piece.. However my son was in tears and said why was his birthday cake Nasty.... I personally don't think it was molded or bad, however it definitely tasted OFF as if the frosting tasted like lemon or something.. to me.. Others said it tasted like rancid cheese, & Two people said it tasted very dry.. 3 said it had no cinnamon or nuts.. So seems that no one liked it.. Unfortunately $50+ dollars is a HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO LOOSE, & IM VERY SAD FOR MY SON, WHO ONLY GETS ONE BIRTHDAY A YEAR , & This was his 17th birthday... I would Advise AGAINST BUYING THIS.. & WILL NEVER BUY IT AGAIN..

Giant Eagle sold individual slices of a cake just like this years ago and I've been craving! So while looking online, I stumbled across this bakery and was stoked they sold on Amazon. Delicious cake! Packaged very nicely and I was able to separate out the slices into freezer bags for future cravings. Yes my big back bought a whole cake for myself hahah

Docked a star because it's not a real Sachertorte and shouldn't be advertised as such (there's no apricot jam and it's covered with ganache not a glaze). That said, I appreciate that it wasn't too sweet, and the ganache and mousse were decent. The cake was a touch dry but that's to be expected with frozen. On sale it was an okay value for the money for a purchased (i.e. not homemade) dessert - 14 slices worked out to about $3.72 per slice. I don't think I would ever purchase this again, though. I'll stick with purchasing local.

This is a full size cake. It came cold-packed and frozen which is awesome. Once thawed it is SO GOOD! Carrot cake is my favorite and this tastes like it’s fresh from the bakery. Worth every penny. So moist, perfect texture. Beautifully decorated! What you see in the picture is definitely what you get.

I am a lover of all things chocolate. Nothing is ever too chocolaty for me. And this cake is divine! Four layers of tender chocolate cake . The filling between the layers is like chocolate mousse, light and scrumptious! The outer frosting has shards of semisweet chocolate pressed into it. For me this is a delight! The cake is precut into 14 pieces which makes defrosting it much easier. If you dream of chocolate cake like i do , this one might just be what you are looking for Update . I decided to buy another one of these cakes for Thanksgiving. It was so very good the first time. The problem was in the shipping. It left the facility scheduled to arrive in two days. Instead it ended up " delayed in transit" and sat in the UPS facility for days and arrived fully defrosted with the icing melted onto the packaging. As much as I love this cake I won't order it again. $70 for a ruined cake. I know shipping delays happen but there should be some way of doing a better job with items clearly labeled "frozen food" and " perishable".
