AIS Dongle

Does what it says on the box.

Forgot to review this as I plugged it in once , saw the abismal performance then lobbed it into the drawer with the rest of the poor performing SDRs. Really disappointed to say the least . I reckon a 40% drop in both Class A and Class B messages and ships on the map with this dongle. Some folk are saying "it depends on your surroundings" etc etc . I live on a hill with an almost 280 degree view of the river and its marinas , ports and mil base. Even tried this with an Uputronics filter for 162mhz and still got around the same msg rate. Use a genuine rtl-sdr dongle with a preamp/saw filter instead nstead . you have been warned

Just download ais_share app on your android then open ur application which is opencpn and share the udp ip and the port on connection setting then it will show all the ships nearby ..

Voor de prijs lijkt het een mooi product echter: - zowel mijn pc als mijn laptop herkende de dongle niet. - de instructie pagina zoals beschreven op de verpakking bevat geen instructies. - zonder succes via verschillende routes geprobeerd contact te leggen met de fabrikant. - verschillende workarounds geprobeerd om de dongle alsnog werkend te krijgen (instructie videos en handleidingen van derde partijen). - de dongle wordt zeer heet, misschien heb ik een kapotte dongle ontvangen. Gezien er geen reactie kwam vanuit de fabrikant heb ik de dongle retour gezonden en mijn geld terug gevraagd.

Der ShipXplorer Dongle hat an meiner Empfangsstation einen Nooelec SDR Dongle abgelöst, der nach vier Monaten nicht mehr funktionierte. Gegenüber dem vorigen Dongle hat sich zwar die Reichweite nicht verändert, aber innerhalb des Empfangsbereichs empfange ich nun Signale aus zusätzlichen Gegenden. Außerdem empfange ich nun auch Channel-B Signale, die ich mit dem Nooelec nicht empfangen hatte. Ich nutze den Dongle an einem Raspberry Pi mit AIS Dispatcher.

Fungerar ok, inga brister kan noteras första användnings tiden. För att förlänga livslängden bör kylare monteras på kretsarna inne i dongle, gärna med fläkt som kyler mer. Nytt emballage behövs för inbyggnad. Bättre vara förövrigt för den intresserade, andra SDR mottagare av TV-typ är betydligt sämre.

RTLとしては利用可能かもしれませんがUSBの認識はただのRTL2838です。受信はAIS周波数を受信し HDSDRなどでは使えますがAISdecが無いと使えないと思います。 私の技量だと高いドングルです。
