Mrs. Anderson's Baking Pie Crust Protector Shield, Fits Up To 8-Inch Pie Plates

Now that I have FINALLY figured out blind baking crusts, for wonderfully crisp flakey bottom crusts on custards, pumpkin pie, lemon meringue... (yea!) I find that the tops of my crusts are starting to burn, before the custards are cooked, so I guess this is the way of things, so, tired of makeshift aluminum shields, time for serious shields. After reading MANY reviews, I settled on these. They are reasonably priced, NOT silicon - the reviews say silicone gets hot, goes limp and falls off. They can be expanded for larger pies and contracted for smaller pies which means I only need 1 set, even though I have 8", 9" and 10" pie plates. They store right on top of my pie plates. And, they actually work! 😁 learn something new everyday!

These piecrust protectors were well-made and very pretty. But, they were too large for my standard size piecrust . I had to return them.

As mentioned by many other reviewers, these are absolutely perfect for the small Marie Callender pot pies. Not having to cut foil strips makes these worth the purchase. The crust browns nicely without burning and there is no hassle putting them on. Obviously they get hot in the oven, so take care when removing them. The only downside is the edges can be a bit sharp, so pay attention when washing them.

It works well whether a 9.5", 10 or 12" pie. No more cutting aluminum foil and making it fit. It is sturdy enough for its job, I love that this product came in a two pack, and priced well.Wash it as soon as it cools, by hand to keep it nice.

I liked the product for the convenience since I eat pot pie all the time! This product was designed to exact dimensions of the size of the pot pies I eat! It does the job of not burning the crust.It is a great product. Thank you!!!!

These work perfectly to cover a pie baked in a standard disposable aluminum 9 inch pie pan. The dimensions are included in the description. If you’re trying to get a shield for a ceramic or glass pan, I would recommend you measure the outer part of the pan and get a shield that will fit. These are so much easier to use than the silicone ones. I would absolutely repurchase!

this item works ok but its a little small of the pie pans I use but it still helps from the crust from getting burned.

Love that has 2 pack option. I never bake just one pie. Bought one of these at a house sale but never saw again for 2 yrs. So finally thought to look up on Amazon. So happy they had. These wok wonderful & unlike silicone fuzz & hair, dust doesn't stick to them & isn't attracted like crazy. I do not like dark pie Crust & these keep fluted edges nice & golden. No more fiddling with foil. Highly, highly recommend. Don't hesitate, just buy. You won't regrwt.
