Do not buy this product outside of the USA, you will have nothing but pain, starting from installation, ending with waking up at night, because even though you are able to set your timezone on their web-site's CP, it will constantly reset to USA anyway and support will not do anything about it. read reviews on the internet. do not buy Ecobee in UAE!

After using both the Nest and Ecobee Premium thermostats, I’ve found that while the Ecobee wins in terms of screen size and overall appearance, the Nest is significantly smarter and more user-friendly in terms of ease of use and navigation.

Paid a premium for the premium variant to find out it dont work with my AC (2 Wire 240W), professional installation cost AED 1500.00 but if I pay installation more than the product price I am not an engineer. Finally found and convinced a wholesaler for a single piece of a traslator product from China here in UAE called Dropair for ~AED 750 with inbuilt transformer (24V), installed it myself with the help of a PDF guide saving me purchase of a compatale transformer and professional fee. Note: to make it work with Smartthings u will need a US account as ecobee works only with US smartthings (just make a new account)

It works in Dubai but requires a change in the wiring. I hired a company and paid 350aed for the installation. There were 2 minor connectivity issues but Ecobee has a live chat. They answered immediately and helped me resolve the issue and it never happened again.

Despite a sleek design and a well designed app, this device is extremely disappointing. It's customization is both detailed but very limited, which means it allows you to customize many useless features of your system but then limits the main functions such as fan speed! Note that this works only in the US. I installed it in the UAE but had to trick it using a US address, which makes its weather-related features useless. I regret buying this device.

I really wanted this product to work in Australia, purchased it, got an electrician to help with installation, but unfortunately had no success. However, the seller was very accomodating and helped with offering a full refund. Would highly recommend. Thank you

I was never happy with my Nest thermostat and learned about Ecobee while reading complaints by other owners of Nest thermostats. It has wireless "sub-sensors" that you can put in other rooms and the Ecobee will read those sensors and average the temp in the house, or, I put one in the master bedroom and have the thermostat work off of only it at night. Our bedroom is now comfortable all night - instead of the hall way where the Ecobee is installed. Ecobee gives you a LOT of reports, including inside and outside temp and humidity, Heat setting, Cool setting, HVAC Fan and actual inside temp, all on one graph so you can see how your system is working and performing. And, it will give you history all the way back to installation. Unlike Nest that only goes back 10 days. Installation was easy. The app tells you to take a photo of the existing system and then tells you where to connect the wires on the Ecobee. It took 15 minutes and that was double checking all of the instructions.

After 2 weeks since purchased, I still have no idea how to install?!

One big bonus: I qualified for a utility rebate, which significantly reduced the out-of-pocket cost. Between that and the energy savings, it feels like this thermostat will pay for itself over time. *I will note if you want to use Siri you will need a HomePod or HomePod mini for that feature.* The display is clean and modern, the interface is intuitive, and it integrates smoothly with smart home platforms. I also appreciate the extra touches like air quality monitoring and occupancy sensing features that feel genuinely useful, not gimmicky. Overall, it’s a well designed, reliable thermostat that delivers real value, especially if you take advantage of available rebates.
